Well im a bit miffed with PS2 at the moment for 1 thing where are the hacking tools?? They where a god send in PS1 hacking bases and tanks and terminals, iv been stuck in a base (PS2) with no ammo at lest with with ps1 u could hack a terminals and rearm ya self.

where are the ants where good cos u had to defend um and the keep the bases full or you would lose um. At the moment planetside 2 dose not feel like planetside its almost like a bad copy of battlefild 2142

now where is the skyguard?? they was fun to drive and also helped in defence.

Also AMS why did they leave out the back bone of the attacking force? i know at the moment the galaxy are doing the ams job but they r big and easy targets.

Now i know a lot of people did not like the Thumper but that was a fun and helped in attacking or defending you could defend a tower for ages with a few of them.

now i know im going to get some stick for this but the battles in PS2 are bloody lame, at the moment they are almost over before you start. you cant defend very well you have no doors? and in some bases tanks just spam the crap out of control rooms.

At lest on PS1 the battles where epic for bases would last for ages or hours in some cases.

The tank battles where good in PS1 where fun where here in PS2 2 hits and ya tank is dead, but on the good note the TR maxes are much better now than in BF1 lol.

I guess im from the old school of PS1 and i was hoping PS2 would be on the same par as PS1 so far i have to say nope :-( which is a shame but im till having fun playing it hope they do add some of old school kit to make things more fun.............

Step 1.) Log in to Planetside 2 Beta
Step 2.) Look at Infiltrator Certs
Step 3.) Notice and look at the "Hacking Category.
Step 4.) Make long rambling post about how things aren't in the game, even though they're clearly being put in the game.

Step 5.) Look at Skyguard weapon for the Lightning in the store and do it all over again.

Hacking of CC's will be in. Devs said so.

Absence of ams is something a lots of us have noticed, and we thing it should be in / don't think current options are adequate.

Skyguard is in, as a variant of trhe lightning.

I do wish they would change the capture mechanics to utilise the old school hacking. That, I think, was a better way.

It's a little early yet, but they have already mentioned implementing a more involved resource system and player harvesting. The focus at present is on the game's framework (getting it stable, and finalising certain mechanics)

Lightning has a skyguard turret. Needs some tweaking, but it's in.

Debatable. In either case, it shouldn't be something you plop down and then leave unattended. They SHOULD go down fast if not being defended. Matter of fact, regardless of how you do it, they'll go down fast if not defended.

Now i know a lot of people did not like the Thumper but that was a fun and helped in attacking or defending you could defend a tower for ages with a few of them.

Most alternate weapons aren't in yet. You can equip multiple grenades and explosives though. Thumper is gone though, I think, mostly to reduce grenade spamming. I think it could be done properly. Since they make grenades cost resources now, if your thumper fired grenades (that cost you) you'd probably not be as careless with them. If you were... You wouldn't have a useful thumper for long...

Battles are pretty short and very insubstantial (what you do lasts about ten minutes before it's all gone). This is a problem they're trying to fix with the last set of patches. They're changing capture mechanics up quite a bit.

The tank battles where good in PS1 where fun where here in PS2 2 hits and ya tank is dead, but on the good note the TR maxes are much better now than in BF1 lol.

Tank durability is reduced because one man can effectively (more or less) run a tank now. For it to be horribly powerful would be somewhat lopsided (even with my liberal views of balance). The durability of vehicles is about right, imo. They're fairly tough from the front, weak from the rear. I don't see why two tanks shooting each other forty times is "fun". It's just stupid. As for getting surrounded by infantry and pwned... Unless you're stupid, you stay away from buildings and rough terrain. Tanks are vulnerable in those instances by their nature.

I guess im from the old school of PS1 and i was hoping PS2 would be on the same par as PS1 so far i have to say nope :-( which is a shame but im till having fun playing it hope they do add some of old school kit to make things more fun.............

I don't miss PlanetSide 1 much. It was an interesting concept (MMOFPS), but the combat mechanics were mediocre. Certain aspects of it were pretty good, though. I see the reason they went with certs, for example, and while the approach they took isn't necessarily BAD, I think a restrictive certification tree that encouraged specialisation would've been better. This KIND OF does something similar, but not as well.

The main part of PlanetSide has been carried over (large player centric battles over persistent territory), it just needs some work to get the same feeling of "what I did today mattered". That I will give to PS1... When the day was done, odds were that the next day you'd still see aspects of what you'd done previously.
