View Full Version : Approximate System Requirements

Didn't see anything about system requirements yet, so here goes:
I've been seeing a lot of people saying how PS2 is difficult for even the most high end PCs, is this accurate? Currently I have a decent computer, probably will help me through another year and a half I'm thinking, but here's the specs:
i7 3610QM CPU @ 2.3 GHz
12GB RAM
Nvidia 675M GTX...
Frankly I'm worried it'll be playable when I do (hopefully) get into beta.
I've played a lot of games on it but nothing legitimately taxing, so I can't say much about what it can handle.

Medium and high settings should keep you well above 30 fps. Your cpu and ram are great. For a laptop chip you got a pretty sweet graphics card.

The biggest performance issue is currently the CPU. You should be very fine with your i7 in that regard. RAM is also great, tho more than 6GB wont give you an edge at the moment.
Cant comment on the GPU as i have lost the overview on performance with nVidia vs. AMD with them constantly changing the numbering.
All i can say is that i got a Radeon HD5770 and can play pretty well on "low". But i am also pretty sure my bottleneck is still the CPU+RAM (C2D E8400@3GHz with 4GB DDR2 RAM).
They also promised more optimizations and they already have improved performance quite well (was unplayable at beta start for me, now its "ok").

This is awesome, should be stickied or something so people can easily find it and be kept updated as it improves.
And how does a GeForce 230M GPU compare to the minimum card? Because i can't find a comparison on the internet.

Hello I am new here =)
It says between 4 GB (required) - 8 GB (recommended)
I have 6 GB DDR3 so it shouldn't be an issue for me.
But I am wondering how much the ram really matters? =)
Especially wondering because, this is the only point where my lappy doesn't match up with the recommended specs =)

6GBs is fine. Its a 32bit client so its never going to use that much. Its mostly just about having enough for your system processes+game. I don't check that frequently, but the last time I looked the PS2 client was using around 1.5GBs of ram while I was playing (I have 8GBs).

I was playing last night in zurvan. Mate goes wholly shit! Says to check processes. Game was pulling 2.6 on ram steady. Running all medium with 2 on high. Render at 100%. That is a shit load of ram. Running ddr3 2133 (I think) with 8 gigs.
