WTB Paid In-game Name Changes FTW!!!!

Hey all,
so basically, we all know sometimes you're in-game name becomes old and grimy. Maybe you took some time off from the game or just want something even more badass. Whatever the case may be, it would be a pleasure to fork over a few dollars to have it changed.

I noticed a lot of companies hate this but many players like it. I'm not sure why this is the case, but as long as it's a subsidiary name of the parent account name, there should not be a problem. <---You sys admins know what I mean.

1. It's a win - win. Customer gets a new name, SOE gets a new income stream. ;)

2. Rough profit calculation ( I can make this even tighter, but for the sake of simplicity):eek:
-Sys admin salary 70k per year, 35 hourly, ~.58 per minute, ~1 cents per sec.
-Approximate time to change name without scripting: 15 seconds
-Cost of action by a sys admin: 15 cents
-Unknown variables: $1.31
-Retail name change cost: $14.99
-Profit per transaction: $13.53 :)

We know customer support would end up doing this so you can already slash the per second salary by half, if not more. We also know someone will write an automated script if profitable, striking out employee salary and leaving the unknown variables behind.

Discuss why you love it or hate it!!!!

Just want to apologize for any math issues...obviously i'm no math genius. I'm a reader not a number cruncher..lol

$14.99 is highway robbery. Intentionally not automating the process even more so.

WHAT?! Dude, first off the game is free and its not triple "A," its quadruple "A!" That's right, I said it. It's, "A.A.A.A." :D Did I mention Free...meaning no upfront cost.

Imagine you went to a car dealership and they said, "sure take this Lamborghini and if you don't like the rims, color or interior we would be happy to change that for you." However, those items you have to pay for.

Are you catching my drift man! This game will be the most leet game on the market or in other words, "best dang car at any dealership."

You should firstly consider yourself lucky, because I can guarantee you if this game flops financially, we won't be seeing another of this quality and pay model for some time. The whole industry is watching so lets reward SOE for giving us what we want. You guys at SOE ARE giving us what we want right???!;)

Now, if you made an appeal to morality argument or something, I'd be like you got a point. But highway robbery? Your way off dude...

Tell me how much you think its worth with numbers and why please.

try again...

You should have to stick with your name. If you tarnish your in game rep by being a dick and no one likes you, there shouldn't be an easy way out. Just make a new character and start from scratch.

$5. Automated process. You're making an argument that people should be happy to pay more for the name change service because of the game, and I don't agree, they should pay for the service itself only.

Is not the only reason way you want to change name on your character that you bought it on e-bay?

I'm going to go and agree with these guys. And add that, if a stealth hacker is starting to get heat by players but the GMs haven't finished an "investigation" (If they started one to begin with) it gives that hacker time to lay low.

Really....this is what someone is thinking about.....how about just pick a pretend name and play already, no one really cares about your name except you.
