Have to admit i'm a little disapointed..... that is all.
I think im just too damn old for this stuff. I feel like a moronic old man trying to run a marathon. Think i spent too much time playing wow, my last big battle type game was battlefield 1942 and that went much easier me thinks. Oh well, just wish i didnt use up someones beta key.

Try to join a good Outfit. They'll help you to get in the game.

Indeed mate, if you are looking for a group to play with send me a PM, I'll be glad to run with ya and help you get the hang of it.
Also don't forget that the game is still in beta, and some things are going to be a bit rough. Balance issues abound and it can be really tough for certain play styles.

Totally the opposite for me, too much fun has been had today to actually achieve anything else.
You need to get on voice and roll with even 2 or 3 people and see some of the epic battles. We've just come out of a battle for one facility that took about 2 hours to win, and it took the whole empire moving together to get around and flank the enemy to take it.

Pretty much what everybody else has said. Roll with some friends or join a outfit to really enjoy what Planetside has to offer. Going solo in this game is just a no go and not nearly as much fun.

You need to play with friends.
Join one of the many outfits and learn what PS2 is really about. You've played WoW you know how it goes.

Trust me, a lot of outfits are in dire need of more mature gamers that understand tactics and know how to listen instead of running off spraying bullets at anything that moves. Get involved with one of those groups and I guarantee you'll have a better time.

This, i played with some random outfit last night, and the game is just 100 times better with a team together

Trying to find one that's in between 'random zergfit, that can sometimes successfully conglomerate on one position, but not often' and 'video games are not for fun, we seek to recreate the discipline and mentality of the real military we fetishize' is difficult.

I think for me the thing I had a really hard time when looking for guilds in other games, was adopting the attitude to sample different guilds, instead of looking and pre-screening all of them. Join a random Outfit, if you like it, stay, if you don't, say you want to look into other options (or whatever is most appropriate) and do so.
Heck, even if you decide not to stay with a particular group you may still meet individuals within it that are fun to spend time with or squad-up with when your respective Outfits are not doing anything specific or whatever.
