Hello, I just wanted to loop everyone into a few infantry weapon changes that are coming soon.
The first change is that weapons are being retuned for slightly longer engagements. This is a bunch of small changes on each weapon and I can’t list out everything, but the major change that almost every weapon will share is less accuracy loss over sustained fire. This mainly means that your cone of fire will bloom out slower when you’re holding the trigger down.
A bigger change is revised recoil patterns on each weapon. We want all players to be able to learn the weapons and get better with them over time so we’re working hard to give each weapon its own pattern and handling characteristics. This means that you’re going to see some shifts in how some of your current weapons feel and it will take some getting used to. As examples, a gun that recoiled straight up before might pull to the right now, or a gun that was fairly steady might have more horizontal recoil.
We’re also going to be rolling out a bunch of balance changes based on feedback and what we are seeing on beta. Changes like a revised VS sniper rifle, pistols evened out between the factions, and more. I want these changes to be incremental so that we don’t swing the balance completely in the other direction, so please keep providing feedback on these and any later changes we make.
Thanks
- Joshua
I approve of these changes. :)
Although I have a feeling that I won't like the changes to the Repeater... :(

Nice :D
And agreed the repeater was a total beast  Knew that wouldn't last long.

Yeah, it was. When I first tested it out, I thought, "meh." Then, I actually used it to kill a few people, and have been killed by it a few times, and that totally changed my opinion about it. It's definitely due for some refinement. :)

Yay, we might get a sniper rifle that works at, well, sniper range.

ya TR sniper at 12x range is damn weak imo. i was getting hitboxes all over the place and no kills last night during one huge outdoor skirmish. nc always one shot me no matter where they seem to be even as HA and nanoweave upgrades which imo is rediculous. TR sniper definitely needs a range buff, be curious to see how just fixing the range will affect the damage. it may still need a slight boost imo but we will have to see.

Do not like individualized recoils. Bleh. All recoil is straight back, and slightly up. Its how guns work! Its physically impossible to do anything else unless you are holding the gun wrong, or they built the thing with the barrel out of line with the center of mass.
Don't mind me. I'm just sick and tired of screen shake.. One aspect of modern shooters I could very definitely do without. :/

The repeater is how the others should be. We don't need no limp noodle pistols. :D

Agree with above. But then what would they do for gun certs? ;)

I agree completely. Slightly worse than a primary weapon, but still a viable thing to pull out in a close combat situation

yay, no more super oozie pistol for the TR and a VS sniper rifle that maybe isn't worthless. And no, the TR pistol should not be how the other empire's pistols should be. A pistol should not have a higher DPS than an HA weapon!
But why the heck would a gun recoil to the left/right and not up? Makes no sense. But seems like the forward grip cert would be the best choice for those weapons.

The repeater takes an entire clip to kill just about anything except infiltrators. If they are going to nerf it, it's ROF needs to be nerfed, but that's it. Decreased damage would make the gun useless.

A pistol in the right hands i feel should have a similar ttk as a rifle, just at close range. Nc pistol drops softies quick with some well aimed headshots.

Yep, and the repeater drops softies quick with some well aimed... spraying.

An NC complaining about weapon damage O.O! while holding a sniper rifle xD funny! my morning was pretty rough today with a crap ton of paper work needed a good laugh thanks buddy! But bar captain *pot calling the kettle black* above me we could use a bit of tweak in pistol's we all could nc pistol is pretty high up on the dmg meter.

The lack of bloom hip firing with the repeater is kinda dumb. There's hardly any situation where ADS is necessary.
A good nerf might be to increase hipfire bloom by a decent chunk, decrease RoF by 10% or so.

Look, we know TR and VS use their Sniper as a semi-auto shotgun with pretty good effectiveness but sadly, NC have to use their pistol for closer range after firing the first shot.
It will also be quite different when real infiltrator with pistol only go around...
And since you butchered your last sentence like a boss, I have no clue what it means and it's probably another stupid statment.

Wrong. Here's why:
a)Muzzle drift (horizontal) is an actual thing.
b)Guns have different weights/weight distribution. This is how guns work. For example, a bullpup will be heavier in the back and cause a different amount of climb than another gun. Saying all guns should have a standardized recoil because of the 'physical impossibility' of any other case is false at best.
Also, the screen shake debate has little or nothing to do with a recoil discussion...
