I don't know why, but I logged into the beta and my account has been wiped... is this purposeful, a bug, what?

Looks like there's been a wipe, though my West 01 and EU characters are still there.

That's really upsetting in all honesty, I've worked pretty hard for those upgrades- but then again so has everyone else. Thanks for the update/help.

EDIT: Strangely enough now I have my character back but the server is unavailable... I'm thinking they are trying to fix the wipe?

I know there was a wipe incoming. If this wasn't meant to be it plan on it soon.

First off, this is a beta, there is going to be at least one character wipe, if not multiple character wipes. If this is how you handle it, I would suggest starting grief counseling now.

Secondly, nothing was wiped, when the servers are off your character name currently disappears. When the server came back on it reappeared.

Character wipes are to be expected durring beta. If you look on the "welcome to beta" page on the official forums it makes this pretty clear. Higby stated that there is one coming soon and I would assume that it would happen again 1 or more times before launch. If it happens after launch, then it's okay to be upset. Until then just enjoy being in the beta :).

They turned off the East Coast servers to fix some network hardware issues. If your character was on an East Coast server, then that's why you can't see your character. It should show up again whenever they bring the servers back up.

what Frog said, you can't see your characters sometimes after a server is brought down for maintenance
