meh... Same shit different story. Who own what warpgate does not really matter does it? It's more a question about map design as I see it. North will always be easier to defend no matter who owns it.

I hate the east area cause it's too scrunched together. I like the south west area the most cause it's more open but has some terrain features such that allows you to maneuver and hide but doesn't restrict vehicles as much. I kind of like the north area but it seems too hard to get up there due to how open the area is.

I like the south east because it is infantry friendly. Of course my armor buddies hate it.

What's not to like? It is good that they keep rotating them so that they get more feedback from players on how it is to play from each WG. It also helps players understand the strengths and weaknesses of owning each WG.

Oh YEAH, now the TR are going to hold one half of the map!
...Wait, who put this canyon here?!?!?

I actually wouldn't mind if they cycle though the warpgates each month or so.

well imo im happy that they changed the NC wapgate location, at least for now (im nc) cuz i have always played against the TR and had barely any fights against the VS so defending the canyons could be cool :) new terrain for me! cant w8 till the servers are up again so i can try it out myself

I agree. And I'm not fan of the sand storms either.

+1
I actually thought this was how they were doing it since I had seen maps with the warpgates switched.

Yeah, you pretty much need to run around in a Sunderer with a few guys to recap everything those NC hoppers skip around in the East...
Finally got fed-up and charged them back, ended up taking two bases right in front of their Warpgate!:D

I hate the idea! There must be another solution.
I would recommend the return of the sanc and connections for each faction to each warpgate.

When I logged in today, I thought something was wrong with my video settings, it was too bright. Then after a reboot to try and fix it, I realized we were up north this time. Had to get used to the terrain and that huge canyon I fell into. :P
Thinking the same thing about sanc and choosing where you want your lines rather than rotating. Higby said in the last AGN that he wanted this to be a player run world so maybe they will listen. Manually rotating bases is not the way (IMHO), the empires should be able to choose what land they want to claim/keep/defend. Right now it is being given to us. I know they are dealing with other important things and lack of continents so this is the best I expect for right now. Just food for thought in the beta feedback.

Yea, I don't see the value in that big canyon they create recently.
I like the south east best I have to say. We found attacking North towards Mao very easy when the sundy repair was active.
When in the South West again we found attacking north quite easy and had some good times just taking bases for the fight.
Based on last night attacking south from North west, West Highland Checkpoint looks hard, from that direction.

What if the players controlled which warp-gate they own? That would give a sense of accomplishment and progression in a sense. As far as what mechanic is used to control this, I'm not sure.

That would be a interesting solution regarding multiple continents. Each warpgate would be connected specific warpgate on another continent.
Maybe it would ben also possible to fight over an alien base (the alien race who build the warpgates) The faction which own the base can choose one of several patterns of connections between the warpgates.
However, i think a Sanc instead of foodholds is a crucial thing.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing yesterday...if there were a certain set of conditions met that allowed a faction to control the north, it would deffinately be worth fighting over...there is no way they can redesign Indar at this point to balance it.
It would also allow factions to fight from different positions on the map...if faction warpgates stay static I think things will be pretty old.

North is just vehicle spam. SE is just infuriating bottlenecks for the defenders. SW was the best designed IMO. You have enough cover for infantry but open enough that Tanks could move around. Moving the factions around doesn't change this.
However at least having TR in the open north works well with their speed focused tanks. Likewise if anyone could turn the crappy SE lemon into lemonade it would be NC since the Vanguard is designed for head to head fighting.

WHATS THAT? I CAN'T HEAR OR SEE YOU OVER THE NEVER ENDING SAND STORM!
We may own the most territory but Jesus the never ending sand storm up north is getting old! PUT THE VS north again there the worst empire anyways they need the advantage.

The sandstorms in the north seem to cut 10-15 FPS, unless it's this new patch that lowered it.

Might be a bit late for this continent, but....
I feel the warpgates should not rest within the respective three terrains.
Instead I think they should each rest at the edge where two terrain types transition. That way everybody gets to experience two terrain types at all times and no one terrain would be associated with any one faction. Instead all are shared.

Whenever I see the map while watching a stream or whatever, it seems like there's almost no real fighting going on the northern half of the continent. It gets to the point I forget what it even looks like.

To follow up, my FPS is back to "normal", tho still waiting for PS2 to start actually using my GPU.

wow that is actually i really good idea.. at least i think it is, ill find the game probably more interesting if the warpgate will be at the edge of a terrain, it will be like playin on two smaller maps then one big one , diffrent type of places to defend. cool idea, i like it

Not a fan of the northern one. It seems to require vehicles to get anywhere and the resources that go towards vehicles seems to be the slowest earned up there. Does crank out Auraxium a lot faster than the lower left where I was last though.
Part of me kind of wishes one of the warp gates was in the crater.
