Hi all
I'm looking for a new headset to replace a faulty Creative Fatal1ty (jack needs tweaking in the port sometime to get all the channels working)

I have an Asus Xonar DX 7.1 PCIE sound card (headset 3.5mm straight into the analoge input mini jack),
Budget is £70 or under,
Mic is nice but not essential - I have a pretty good one on a Creative webcam which sits close by,
Not fussed on wireless - prefer wired if it brings cost down.

I've ignored USB headsets that promise 5.1 or 7.1 so far because they bypass the sound card (which I love) but I obviously want a rich surround experience.

Anyone own these and can share an opinion?

Corsair 1300 Vengeance? Think I saw Goku post about some friends liking them:

Roccat Kaves?

Hit me guys.
Cheers

If you want good headphones, avoid any company that makes gaming mice/keyboards.

Creative's "Aurvana Live!" headphones are supposed to be good. Aside from that, I'm seeing...

Closed: Sony MDR-V6, Fostex T50-RP, Audio-Technica ATH-M30, Shure SRH-440

Open: Audio-Technica ATH-AD700, Grado SR60i

Also: Koss Porta Pro, they're semi-open, on-ear and a ways below $70, but even they will probably sound better than anything from Razer/Roccat/Steelseries/Turtlebeach/etc. Superlux headphones are also supposed to be good, but I'm not sure which ones.

Thanks fella. I've looked up the CALs and I'm favoring them over the others now so thanks. Forgot to say I'll use them for music but as a secondary consideration and from what experts say, they're as good as cans that cost twice as much.
