A program has been pointed out to me recently that you beta **** may want to check into pronto. Anyone else into creating demos or movies from the games you play aswell.
http://www.fraps.com/
Fraps will record an uncompressed AVI of anything on your screen. This means any game. I did this in T2 and with a T2 demo recently and the results and ease of use are incredible. Though i skipped the whole sound thing. I then used a program called VirtualDub. This progam compesses and has the capability to encode sound to your AVI and output it to DivX along with other formats.
The site states that the hit on your proc is minimal. That is assuming you got a d0pe c0mputer. Not like my own "barely-meets-PS-sys-rec" PC. One other issue is that you must view/play at a resolution of 640x480, with bit rate varying depending on your system specs.
So to all you beta testers that wanna make us some demos. Fuck you and have fun.
I never could get Fraps to work. It looked more like a slide show for me.
Can you post a link to your T2 video. I'd like to see the quality.
Thanks
:D

i have a 1.6 ghz with 1280 ddr ram. I have the latest DX drivers and a geforce3ti500. This still killed my computer when going into halflife. But i did find the recorded version of what i did, it just wouldnt play. Did i mention it crashed my system?

your better off makeing a demo 1st. then play it in half-life/quake 3 etc and record it from the demo.

Totally. Plus there is a readme and very good FAQ to read before you get into it. I know i had to either remove some thing or reconfigure. Other than that it works flawlessly for me.

My hd is not what they recommend. But works just the same.
The only other thing i can think of is that you have some sort of conflict. Also, you either don't have the correct codecs or you don't have the right player to view AVIs. WMP will play them if you update the codecs. Anglepotion codecs can keep your WMP from updating. So remove Anglepotion, it's crap anyways. But i use Divx player 2.0 with DivX codec 5.0.3.

Once i have these demos how do i edit them? Is there another program to use for that?
