How long does it take to get to rank 20?

What intially perked my interest in this game was the fact that you got all your exp through PKing instead of camping mobs all day like other RPGs. But I also notice to be "uber" you're gonna have to get a high rank. About how much time invested is it going to take advance 1 rank? To rank 20?

Average players will get BR20 in about 3 months or more like TRscpd said but, the more you play the sooner you will get there and the less you play the longer it will take. So it really depends on each player and how much time they spend playing the game.

It always depends on the player and how much he/she plays. It could take from a month-3months. I know it will take me maybe 2 1/2 months to get that high. plus the command ranks.

2 months for me. 2 1/2 tops. I've skipped school before to play games. My record for playing a game is 13 hours strait. (I used the bathroom once.)

back in the days of highschool, i used to get up at 2 in the morning, after going to bed at 12, to play games for a few hours before school.

sadly im an art school bum now and if im tired in class i risk severing a limb. ps will be the death of me im sure.

i bet i can get lvl 20 rank in about 1 month and maybe 1 or 2 weeks i play alot :) when i played EQ i would start at 10am or 12 pm and go to bed at 4am.

and thos all nighters get to you if the game is good its all nighter :P

Tho do any of you think these time limits are alittle to long? I mean damn, who wants to wait 30 minutes for a new vehicle, who want weapons lock for 10 minutes, who wants armor lock for 3 days? I mean christ! This is all the factions that will kill the game!

i never heard of armor lock?? and as for vehicles i think its less then 30 min am not sure. am guessing 20 or less cuz 30 seems a little long

Just a small correction, it depends on skill not time played. Well both actually but you can spend your first month playing 18 hours a day, if you frag 10 people in that 18hours you won't be getting BR20 soon. :)

My last full day of school is like one day after PS comes out, which totally rocks. And, with a little luck, maybe open beta will open soon, since our spring break is next week. Soooo....

All depends on the success of you and your squad. You wont get to BR20 for some time if you run around solo.

All of you other 19-year olds are probably going to be out of college when PS comes out, and will be able to get sunk into it for a month or so.

My work week is: 40 hours in 4 days, then on Friday I have another job that needs a 12-hour workday, and Saturday I have to travel a half-hour to Thai classes which last like 3 hours . . . two days a week is NOT enough for a formerly hardcore gamer.

Solo snipers will not get rank as fast as solo snipers that are part of a squad.....

Oh, but I forgot to mention -- one of the perks is that my day job lets me whore the forums. :D So I still love my job, I just wish I could also, you know, play PLANETSIDE at work. Although these forums don't interfere with my productivity much . . . I type so fast, and I use my comments on the forums as a GREAT way of getting my mind out of a rut it's stuck in on a particular problem.

I'm not saying going solo will be completly ineffective, I am just saying if you arent in a squad you will not get as much BEP

From what Ive read everybody in a squad will get full BEP for every kill long as they are in the area. Now if you are running around inside a facility with a squad of a 10 AI MAXs and 4 armor repair guys you are gonna be getting MAD BEP :)

Running Solo all the BEP you get is what you kill rather then what your friends kill too.

But I think the higher advance rates will be happening later rather then sooner. Need more time for people to hear about PS and join. More people=more targets :)

So beginning= 3-3.5 months for BR20. After a year prob 1.5-2.5 months for the same player to hit BR20.
