That's an amazingly great build. One question though, do you not have an SSD? It seems like it would be a very important item for a rig like that! :) Awesome system though, and in 2-3 years that processor will still look good and you could add in another 7970 for great Xfire performance.

Nice computer man, I don't like the X79 platform though.
X79 was mostly intended to be used for workstations, quite expensive for everyday use but excellent if you're into folding@home.

Anyhow here's mine, was built over a year ago but swapped out the video card.

Case: Fractal design ARC MIDI
CPU: Core i7-950 quad core, overclocked at 4.2GHz
CPU cooler: Corsair H100 in push/pull configuration with 4 cougar PWM 120mm fans
Motherboard: ASUS p6X58d-e Xtreme design motherboard LGA1366
RAM: 12Gb, 3x Mushkin Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 2000MHz @ 7-8-7-21
Hard drive: WD caviar black 500Gb SATA2
Solid state drives: Crucial m4, 64Gb as system drive & 128Gb as game/FRAPS drive
Video card: EVGA Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 690 dual GPU 2x2Gb
Power supply: Antec trupower 1000 Watts 80+bronze

I got my RAID-0 SSD's purely for fraps, gives much faster write speeds also so gets rid of that bottle neck. I'm frapsing at about 50 FPS now :).

I am very jealous but envious as well of both of your new rigs. Still saving up for my mid-grade pc build lol. I can't imagine how amazing PS2 must run on both of your machines..
