Rather late, since it's over already, but I figure the recorded version will be uploaded soon.
Features:
- infantry weapon unlocks
- infantry collision detection
- dedicated gunner for MBTs in the works
- a little talk on behind-the-lines stuff and the hex system
- Higby cheating again :D
- ...
Interesting stuff I think.
edit: Someone please change the date in the title, mixed up timezones there by accident. ty

So what all was said about Infantry collision and MBT gunners?
There's nothing about the livestream anywhere so I was wondering.

Here is the recorded version I believe:
Part 1 (http://www.own3d.tv/CurseTV/video/814409)
Part 2 (http://www.own3d.tv/CurseTV/video/814444)
Maybe it's not the same one, but it's from today
Edit: Fixed the second link
Edit2: I watched it all and made notes for those that don't have time to watch the entire thing. I got all of the important/new bits, and I took some screen shots of Higby's camo :P My apologies for skipping all of the SOE stuff, I was going after game play stuff.
------------------------
Implementing better AA for starting players, decision based on data gathered from the character wipe.
Shotguns within the next 2 weeks (Higby Equips one at 12:40 with some interesting came on. Desert camo)
Competitive Gaming ideas (17:00) Not going to be separate servers or areas from the general battlefield. Weight classes/tiered structure based on Outfit size. These results translate in seeding into quarterly tourneys. Officers going to live event, rest of Outfit supports from home.
Observer Mode being worked on for viewing events - No real info on who is going to be able to use it
Higby Blatantly Cheats @ 24:30
Release date hintings "Camo will be available before December 31st" (25:00)
Question session (26:15)
Q: Will there be infantry collision
A: YES. We have that on the list. Friendly fire will negate people blocking doors :P
Q: When will we see an Outfit Alliance System?
A: Most Outfit add ins like that will be post launch
Q: What are the difference between S-AMS and regular Sunderers
A: Better visual distinctiveness so you can tell at a glance what a Sunderer is going supply.
Q: Differences between Population, and are you worried about it.
A: No pop balance in the game yet, but they are needed, and they will be in the game.
Q: When can we expect to see Galaxy drop pods?
A: Talked about making the Galaxy has growth for hot dropping. By default gals hot drop and through growths you'd be able to get things like accelerated dropping, and some other stuff post-launch.
Q: Equippable knives?
A: You have a knife by default. We've talked about equippable knives but no solid plan right now, so no comment as of yet.
A: Will there be more vehicles like buggies?
Q: Yes, buggies will be in, probably very shortly after launch. Have quick strike multiple man vehicles is very appealing.
Q: Faction coloring options for triangle markers so that not both enemy factions are red?
A: Going to talk to the UI guys about implementing this.
SOE Stuff
Higby Cheats Again at 42:45. Higby quits cheating at 45:35 and performance suffers.
More Questions (47:30)
Q: Magrider on a hill slides down. Can I get an eBrake?
A: Tough shit, use a Vanguard. Really though I'll ask. Having them not float down a hill might be an issue. Right now all of the tanks have too much variation in their shot patterns. We need to fix that.
Q: How much longer is Alpha Squad going to be available?
A: Not really sure, but hopefully it will be available until launch.
Tanking with Higby (52:00 - 58:41)
More Continents = less three faction fights
Settings for the new continents:
Esamir is an ice continent, has a lot fewer regions, fights are more spread out and a lot more vehicle in-between the regions
PART 2
Amerish is Forestry like PS1. Scottish highlands style.
(1:29 - 9:45 - Dedicated Gunner and balancing PS1 player expectations with current shooter fan's experience)
Q: Dedicated Gunner Cert, is it expected to be implemented at some point?
A: Talking about it, but not 100% certain about it right now. It's the way it is now so if you unlock stuff for your tank, you actually get to use the upgrades. Also, the looking for gunner like in PS1 gets old. New players aren't expecting to not be able to use the tank gun as the driver. Further through the tanks progression tree you might be able to unlock the dedicated gunner seat and that would give you access to new more powerful weapons, but the tradeoff is that you would need a gunner. The biggest issue is the magrider gun, as it needs to be controlled by the driver. Perhaps the secondary gun in the magrider would be the more powerful gun. There's nothing that is apparent that works really well. That's why time is being taken thinking through the dedicated gunner cert.
10:00
Q: What's your favorite aesthetic thing about non-NC stuff?
A: Lots of things, Mossy, Scythe, Magrider. But the NC has to prevail because the NC is the noblest and most righteous of the factions.
(11:00 - 14:00 philosophical debate about faction alignments and justness)
14:10 - Hex System
Added adjacency requirements so there are predictable front lines and can tell where people are attacking towards. We're not 100% sure we're going to keep adjacency in long term. Higby likes the idea of being able to do back ops. Talk about how influence affects capturing bases and how it takes a long time to capture behind enemy lines. Things need to be added so there is more awareness to what bases are currently being captured.
We have lots of ideas about the game, and it's coming very soon that this ceases to be our game and it becomes your game. We really want to take player feedback and implement it. Getting feedback throughout the beta process is and beyond is a big part of why we think we're going to be successful for PS2. We have a lot of dedicated players that care a lot about the game and we care a lot about what they think.
18:00 - what are the distant future plans?
We have a lot of long term plans, but we want to release that list and ask the fans what they want. Do you want naval warfare? Or *unintelligible* continents? Do you want underground battles or would you want the ability to place your own bases in the world? We want feedback from the players to what to prioritize.
(20:30 - Grips of tanks and a liberator action)
SOE will be good times
Friends
Fun
Games
Booze
Contests
25:30 - The faction song

Thanks for the write-up! (great for in-class reading) I would really like to see naval warfare, or space warfare. Either or is fine with me, in the end I would like to see something where you can travel between different ships attempting to destroy enemy ships to get to their mothership. Each mothership being kind of like a warpgate but destroyable.

My problem with player made and owned bases is that it feels like it's a rabbit hole that once the game goes down it can never come out of to add any other features to the game.

Why? Isn't this just giving us more tools to have players make new unique content? Imagine level builder for certain continents.

Thanks for the write up, I was on that stream chat and asked a few of those questions. There weren't a whole lot of viewers, so it's good to see this info being relayed here for more to see.

How about putting the Prowler twice in the vehicle selection list:
- Prowler (large crew) = 3 person
- Prowler (small crew) = 1 person

Not really. This isn't steam workshop or anything where cosmetic items are made. (though that might also happen at some point) These will be things that directly impact gameplay. Making a cont where players build the bases is basically creating a whole new metagame. Also player made bases are a much larger thing than just cosmetics. There are gameplay concerns, balance issues for defense and offence. If they go full Eve online style with destructible bases and 0 publisher interference I could see it be a good thing but we'd probably never see naval expansions as the new meta game would be exciting and would constantly be calling for more depth and additions. I'd rather have things like weather, naval combat, seamless worlds, and maybe space before player controlled contents go in the game simply because I don't see a point where the devs could walk away from it.

I would rather see Sanctuaries and naval combat and more continents along with a list of a million other things long before I see player created continents. :P~

More continents so that continental domination can be afforded. That's what's on the top of my list. You've just got to pump out more conts.
Navel combat? Yes. They would definitely have to give you're guys a real benefit on the land to be important, though. (Unless we're talking about territory and water bases on the sea.)

I really don't understand this sentiment. I mean, I get it, people want their faction has achieved something, but they shouldn't have to pump out continents just so no one plays on them. On the other hand, I'd like some sort of solution in between that and the rubber banding battles that are currently happening.
