Hey all -

As some of you have fondly noted, the cost for certain certs in the game are a bit out of whack right now. We're in the middle of a big certification rebalance which will be up on beta with next week's push. This will affect cert prices as well as cert point accumulation rates.

With tonight's patch we will be re-enabling passive cert point gain and for the next week we will be cranking the rate of the gain up quite a bit. We're doing this so that we can test a lot of the higher level certs which are impossible to acquire right now with the current costs and cert point acquisition rates. I want to be clear that this weeks passive cert point rate is ABSOLUTELY NOT indicative of our final rate, it's juiced way up.

Now for the painful part - with next week's patch and certification point rebalance we will be doing a character wipe. Next week's patch is going to be really exciting, we'll be adding Esamir to the game as well as ungating almost all of the remaining certs and solidifying cert point costs across the board. So this week, enjoy the fast cert point gain, try out lots of certs and let us know what works well, what works too well, and what doesn't work at all.

Looking forward to seeing your feedback and finally getting that Nanoweave armor...

1 - pretty fast, enough to make some serious progress through the cert tree.

2 - with next week's patch the cert accumulation rates will be balanced to our intended final values. They will continue to be tuned as necessary beyond that.

They gonna be upping auraxium gains too so we can test all the vehicle weapons too? So many of them havent ever worked right, it would be nice to see if they are working yet or not without having to waste absurd amounts of the resource just to see if its fixed or not.

F-awesome!

I was wondering if we would actually test the things that are impossible to unlock with our time frame and cert gain.

Let me test all the high level certs at the cost of a character wipe? Fine with me. :)

So by next week the cert costs and passive gain will be balanced, Esamir released, and a character wipe.

So the super fast cert regen is only for the weekend? Must be pretty insanely fast to be able to acquire stuff that is 500+ cert points

This will sound annoying, but it might be pointless purchasing anything from cert points you earn if they're going to perform a character wipe whenever there's a major change, as right now, that's every couple of weeks!

Hopefully there will be some measure of normality the closer we get to full launch status.

It's good but is only 1 week of testing of the advanced certs enough? I'd say not.

If you wait until the end of beta to test out the cert tree I'm guessing the cert tree won't leave beta....?

Only annoying if the cert cost vs. cert gain rates are not balanced properly. They should just leave that metric alone until they've gotten all the cert costs close to what they think it should be at launch. I guess they can't figure that out without testing it in beta though. Just a guess. It's defiantly not pointless to purchase things in beta since they have to test these things out. Might seem pointless to you due to it not being fun at all but in the end we aren't here to have fun as a primary objective. We are here to help the devs test the game.

This is the first time character wipes have been so close together, so it's not "every couple of weeks". The wipe is just necessary due to the changes. I would not expect the time between wipes to be so short next time.

All these certs and actually not a ton of stuff to spend them on as most of the things I really want to test are in the Infiltrator tree or the store and not available yet. Where's my Stalker Camouflage?

Now I don't mind buying a bunch of certs to find out they don't work!

Yep this - since tech test this is the first time they have done this so close together. I understand the reasoning behind it.

Loving this patch, I can make lots of mental notes as to which certs are useful and which are utter garbage knowing it dosent matter since it will all get wiped next week anyway. +1 to giving most of the certs some tooltips with this patch though.

Try before you buy. I'd hate to spend a week or 2 gathering enough points to buy something to find out I'd purchased a chocolate kettle. Or at least chance to re-spend them , I dont care if its a 24hr timer.

Sure, you could say you get infinite cert points to spend, fair enough. But here's the thing, most people dont have infinite life points available ;)

As for Esasquare , no comment :bang:

^^^ I agree, if not a try before buy with time limit what would really be nice is VR training.

An 'Un-cert' button would be nice. You could uncert anything and you get maybe 50%-75% of your certs back. So if i certed in a scope that cost 10 certs, i could get back 5-8 by uncerting. That way a mistake is not so costly. Because i keep choosing multiple items and such, then realize that they are incompatible and such. Its getting quite annoying actually. I guess i need to pay attention more.
