Edit:
Look at the bottom-left corner. Three dots on the tank.

Ummm, yeah, it's always been a guess, that is hard fact, buddy.
Anyone that chats on IRC will know what I'm talking about.

Alright, um, I thought I would be helpful and show something that shows concrete proof that the Prowler is three manned. Instead, people start bitching about empires...
This forum is turning official... :(

The 2ndary gunner is most likely optional, you can have one for the machineguns or you can have 1 guy operating both.
Reason for why i think the secondary is optional: http://www.planetside-universe.com/media/viewer.php?img_id=343
It says secondary gunner can use, not need a secondary to use the machine guns.
Annyways, Ourobous is right. The secondary gunner had not been confirmed until yesterday, only speculated and assumed it had one due to the magasine i linked to there, but it's kinda old and could have been changed. The shot is the first hard evidence.

i dont know how often a secondary gunner will be useful, but i spose if there is a massive battle against both infantry and vehicles then the secondary gunner may be useful.

The secondary gunner is optional, but unless someone is manning it, it will not fire.
The main gun is primarily for tank battles and hard targets, while the chaingun is effective on personnel, air, and lighter targets. But I promise you, if you run around without both guns manned, it is a lot tougher to survive.

TR only.
Rest of the tanks are 2 man.. cept the lightning thats 1 man.
TR also has the only 3 man buggie.

sweet, now im straight. knew about the buggie, had no clue about the tank... thanks
course that brings up an interesting though for the vanguard... if that insainly long barrel is programed as a solid object, i wonder if u could spin the turret and smack soldiers that were right next to u before u unload with the machine guns... probably not but its a funny thought

I'd much rather have 3 2-man tanks than 2 3-man tanks
