I realize that stamina will become quit a large factor in the game. I am wondering, what rate does stamina decrease if you are simply just running around? I think i read somewhere that implants use stamina, which is fine with me, but is it used just for running around and fighting without implants?
I've had some bad experience with stamina such as with the half life....ah, cant remember the mod, but it had stamina that was decreasing just by running around, and that might be a problem for me-having to stop to take a breather every 2 min. I guess thats what i like about tribes and UT. Please tell me that stamina is only used for implants, or decreases at a VERY slow rate.
I've seen some screens of decreased stamina, but i dont know the cause of that, and im sorry if this has already been discussed somewhere else, if so, please direct me to that place. Its been a couple months since i last read the faq, so im skipping the faq, and coming here, any info would be great. Thanks.

The main importance of Stamina in PS will be to prevent bunny hopping, and give a realistic sense of running etc... Jumping greatly decreses stamina, where as running doesn't drain as much. Yes implants drain stamina, as a cost to using them. Otherwise they would be overpowered. Sense there are easy transport methods, I don't see having to take a breather every so often as a problem because vehicles are easy to access.

I like the idia of running draining stamina, it adds another variable to the battle, but anyway, does anyone know if running affects MAX armors stamina

I can understand preventing bunny hopping since this isn't tribes, but lets say I'm....400 yds from a vehicle, would i need to stop and take a breather, or could i make the 400 yds all at once by simply running, and not fighting, or getting shot at.

Well I haven't played in beta, so most of this is guesswork, but I would be confident in saying that you could make it easily without stopping. Since the continents are humungous, I believe they will make the stamina count quite high.

phew. I was afraid I really would have to stop for a breather every two min.

They are trying to make it realistic. So the average infantry solider can jog what, like 5 miles in 30 minutes? I know in the Army males have to be able to jog 2 miles in 16.5 minutes, and in the Marries its 3 miles in 22-24 minutes (Forgot the time) . So a light armored person in full gear in a war, I think should being able to jog 2 miles in 15-20 minutes without stopping, and a heavy armored person in full gear in a war, should be able to jog 1 mile in 15-20 minutes. Now this is a video game, so we must put the Fun Factor in sometimes, so these real life times might be cut in half.
We know there is a Walk and a Run, but will there be a Walk, a Jog, and a Run?
I can jog 2 miles in 12 miles, or I can run 100 yards in 30 seconds. I guess that is what the Surge Implant is for.

Running used to drain stamina but that was changed... slowed the game down to much.
Jumping
Getting hit
Using implants
Thats what drains stamina.

bunny hopping..... I dont think it will be a problem in games like this, it will drain accuracy BADLY which is all the reasons you need.
Couse if any of you guys have played RtCW, you never see a jumping dude jumping all the time in fights, not becouse it drains stamina but becouse it drains accuracy and its much easier to hit him, only a newbie would do that.
And also, I think RtCW is a great stamina game, when you run and jump it decreases stamina, then you can run-jump which decreases lots of stamina.
It will slowely regenerate, it takes about 25 seconds for a guy that has none stamina left.
Q3 must be a HUGE bunny-hoping game, since you get much more speed and the enemy gets harder to hit you with rocket (the popular and most used weapon to many) right on your face which deals more damage then right on the ground.

You know, doing 2 miles in 12 minutes is FASTER than doing 100 yards in 30 seconds? If you keep up that 100 yards in 30 second pace up, you are looking at 17.6 minutes to go 2 miles.
Something is wrong if you jog faster than you run, no wonder why you want that jog option in there! :D

100 yards in 30 seconds is bad if you are in a track meet...
But doing it while holding a rifle in a ready position, wearing full body armor, and carrying 30-40 lbs of other equipment, while on the lookout for people trying to kill you, is really not too terrible.
