The "War"-feeling, which, despite all issues and the overall "callofdutyfication", is getting more and more close to the feel of PS1.
Atleast in my opinion. :)

The gun play and the grafics. Almost everthing else was better in ps1.

I LOVE the day night cycle in the game. There is nothing like rolling up to a massive fight and observing the tracer fire going up into the air and so on. It just looks beautiful. I can't wait till weather makes it into the game.

That feeling when you finally crack a hard to break defense nut. Also, gun play.

Day to Night cycle and graphics.

That is the only good thing in that game so far.

but being a decade later it will take one hell of an excuse if it wasn't.

It seems someone needs to calm down a little bit, seeing that you are a tough person to satisfy (at least atm...). Didn't have a chance to play PS1 and I understand that some vets are feeling kinda betrayed for PS2 not being an updated clone of the original. Still many flaws within the game but it's still being constantly updated/"improved", so let's just take a deep breath and see what the future has in store for us before totally stomping the game to the ground...

Planetside 1 was such an awesome game that the servers are all still up and full of people. Oh wait its severely dated and only has 1 server.

Lets say SOE updates the graphics and basically slaps them on the same gameplay of PS1 and calls it PS2, how many people would like it? Id say about the 2000 people (guessing) that maybe still play PS1, even then you wouldn't get all of those people because some would choose to stay on the old version. So lets say about 1500 people play this new game.

OR maybe what SOE can do is build on the platform with new graphics, new gameplay styles and does a whole new game. How many people play this new game? Maybe half a million people?

If you are SOE looking to invest your resources into one of these two plans, which one would it be?

Let me just correct you before all the angry vets flame you lol.... Planetside 1 actually had many servers just none were as big as the ones we play on today. I agree with you the game needed an update on the gameplay because I dont see alot of people they are trying to attract to put up with the old system. The devs have had a hard time pleasing both audiences and I think they did a pretty decent job trying to cater to both.
