How much visiblity does the infiltration suit show at its different stages, i.e when you are still are you 100% see-through or is there a v small glint distortion, e.g halo style?
If they are unditectable when not moving they would vertually force people to have the night vision implant else they would be awesomely powerfull in hacking bases.
(e.g para out of sky, hide in base till main console unguarded then hack) or is this meant to be the case?

when you are not moving they cant see you alot all they see is like little lines and if they run by you they well not even see you.
but if you are moving fast they well spot you easy

If they are standing still you cannot see them AT ALL, no lines, totally see thru. For confirmation, watch the fileplanet beta video...
When they are moving, it depends on their speed, but if they are moving slow you will hardly notice them.

your right, but that may be my eyes filling in teh shape that just disappeared :)
But your not going to see those "little lines" unless you are smack infront of the person and you are looking for them as I was in teh video.

Maybe, have you seen the last part of the beta video? Dio make a copy of it do a search for Stealth Attack.WMV on this forum - in that video is a guy dying, an unstealthed running away and a stealth (the blue blob on the floor) running the other way, you cannot see the stealth at all (virtually) except for that blue blob whatever that is...

You know, after thinking about it (and watching the rest of that beta video), I think that blue blob would be a Vanu knife in secondary. Just a hunch, but that'd be my best guess.

Well, you aren't invis when you are para out of sky, so you could be caught then. Then, while the hack is in progress, I believe you turn visible and have no way of defending yourself. Finally, when the hack is done, you are going to have to defend the base for 15 minutes while the previous owners are alerted that the hack has occured. A lone infiltrator won't have a chance at a successful defense.

Why can you not turn invis while parashooting? The armor is activated don't see why you can't.
You can always stop the hacking progress so you aren't helpless.

Funny thing about hacking bases is that it takes 15 minutes to capture. I betcha that's a loooong 15 minutes when you're alone, with no armor, and nothing more than a pistol and maybe a high explosive or two. Infiltrators may not be the ultra base hackers you think.

Hmmm.
Max armors can't hack can they?
But reenforced CAN, correct?

Any armor that has a pistol slot is able to hold an REK and hack a base.

I made a big post about how I was so surprised, and it would be cool to hack with my MAX.
And then I realized . . . MAX don't have a pistol slot, dumbass.
Doh.

Does having certs on hacking make it quicker? if so it may be a bit easier, though you would need to have a backup squad to come in after ( or a group of infiltrators rathar than one)

it makes hack faster and you can hack there consols to get health or buy armor ammo and stuff in there base :P

Thanks Dio thats the one I spent ages looking for (that was the first thread I loaded up but I never saw the link :D )
me = muppet.
From waht I have seen in images and vid's The transition period between visible and invisable are the little blue lines all of you seem to talk about, though I could be wrong. :)

The 15 minute period is static. Doesn't change no matter how good a hacker you are. The reason that's so is because the defenders of the installation need a reasonable amount of time to stage a recapture. And it's that recapture that will make the 15 minutes seem like forever. The first place the defenders of the facility are going to go when the facility is hacked is the control console -- the palce you are going to be standing, with only your no-armor and pistol-only ass standing between the enemy and a recapture.
Obviously, though, if you have allies there to help, the situation is different. But, then, you're really not an integral part of the capture in terms of hacking, because anyone can hack. Your role would be limited to very minor combat support in most cases, and terminal hacking. And the reason I say very minor combat support is because infiltrators have very little standing between them and oblivion. Even stray shots in a firefight could put you out of action, and the enemy knows it, so if you begin opening fire, they'll return fire simply because you'd die very quickly, and as we all know, a kill is a kill (that and everybody probably hates fighting invisible enemies, so the faster they get rid of you the better).

Well, not my role. Because I plan on having reinforced or maybe MAX as another option, and I'll hack the equip terminal once Ive stealthed into the base, grab my MAX armour then hack the control terminal.
