I am going to make my own computer (it will probably be ready just about time for PS hehehe  ) so far here is the rundown:
1.53- Athalon xp 1800
512 mb
The rest of it is unimportant by video game standards :) except for one big thing that is missing, a video card. I was wondering what kind of card you guys would suggest for the computer maker on a very tight budget (so please, don't make me any sadder by telling me that this game won't run good unless I plunk down big money to buy a 9700 or something  ) Thanks in advance to your replies.

I have that processor, mine runs at 1.3 Ghz. I'll probably overclock soon.

Pre ordering isn't the problem, my amazing super-poreness is a problem.... unless.... you want to buy one for me :D

Really? On all the sites it says it runs at 1.53. That is peculier.

Get a GeForce4 MX 420!
It's good and inexpensive. party:

No, all processors from a wafer run at different speeds, mine was just one of the slow ones. The speed is merely an estimate.

eh, I have the 1600+ and it runs at 1.4 so I know that thing has got to run faster..
Go with what I bought, the 9500 pro. or I suppose the ti 4600's are about the same price now....i think

Well if you plan on buying a bit before PS get try to get the 9700, it should be lower cost by then, if you can't get either 9500 or a GF4 TI. :)

get a sapphire 9500 pro and then pm me when you get it and ill send you a softmod that makes it run like a 9700 pro(almost) and it doesnt burn up your card or anything like that either. and if you wanna really go crazy with it which i doubt you do i can send you a tutorial for a hardware mod but its extremely risky and really not worth it when the softmod does it just as well most times

i have the sapphire 9500 128mb card. it works really well. i have like triple the performance of my gf3 ti200. i love it, i bought it from www.pcpart4less.com it was $155, about half of a 9700 pro for just barely less performance
Yeah i keep hearing the 9500 is better than 9700 cost effectiveness wise.
I might just get that when i upgrade (hopefully around the time i get PS but i doubt it :ugh: )
