Who do you think is the greatest musician of all time?

It can't be a band or group. It has to be a person.

Edit: Top three are cool too.

Musical Talent? if so then probably a bunch of classical composers with german names.
Now if you talking about what music I personally think make the best music for me then....
1.) Billy Corgan
2.) Les Claypool
3.) Jimmi Hendrix (if only he would have lived to make more music :tear: )

Bob Dylan. Good old Bobby D. No 1987 Volvo Station Wagon is complete without s/t and "The Times They Are a-Changin' "

Lou Reed of the Velvet Underground did a lot of incredible stuff when with the Velvets.

Phil Elvrum of the Microphones is a recording genius.

Oh and of course the almighty James Kochalka of James Kochalka Superstar. (hot chocolate supersex (http://dangerfive.com/jks/) & other (http://www.mp3.com/jameskochalkasuperstar))

Jaco was in that jazz ensemble with the name somehow related to weather, right? I think weather. Maybe. I've heard some of his solo stuff anyway. Crazy technical bass, while impressive, doesn't keep me interested for long.

gotta count another vote for Stevie Ray.

I saw him in concert 5 times before he died.
seen many others over time. no one can touch him for the style and energy in a live performance.

When you say musician do you also mean writer/composers?
For now I am leaving out the writer/composer aspect.

3, In no particular order:
Andres Segovia (the hands down, all time greatest guitarist)
Charlie Parker
Sergei Rachmaninov
