Anyone using a joystick for aircraft? I know the keyboard and mouse controls have always been good in regards to the aircraft, but I have a joystick and wondering if it's worthwhile setting it up?

It's worth giving it a try I'd say, but the outcome is somewhat unpredictable.

Apparently, a few joysticks work flawlessly, but many seem to not work at all. I imagine it's a very low priority for the dev team to implement full joystick support at this stage. Wouldn't surprise me if they only got around to it after launch.

I would love to try flying, but I'm simply too lazy to learn the keyboard commands. Not while the possibility of proper joystick support is still there.

They fixed it. It's pretty fantastic. Arbitrary axis mapping isn't there yet, but high-continuous-gee dogfighting is now possible without ridiculously hacky measures.

It's working now on:

Thumb stick on Logitech G13
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro
Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS

Not much luck with the throttles yet, but I feel that's minor.

Thanks. Going to try out the Logitech I have maybe tomorrow.

I'll report back my results later, lol. I'm sure I'll crash into many mountains as I fiddle with it.

Also, I got keyboard landing down pat now.
