Aside from the unnecessarily complex interface, no VR training room and lack of character customization, I'm actually having a lot of fun. Maybe it's been so long since I last played planetside, coupled with the fact that ignorance really is bliss at times, that I am enjoying myself.
I started to back hack bases on the periphery today, trying to imbalance things and it was fun. Other people joined in, heck I wasn't even in a squad, but it kind of reminded me of the nuisance missions I use to always run.
Still fiddling with my mouse sensitivity; I can't seem to find a comfortable level. Maybe it has more to do with my poor reflexes as I age as opposed to me finding a good level as I either overshoot or undershoot close-in targets while strafing. Or it could just be graphical lag causing my funny, but uncomfortable mouse movement.

Or it could be the BeerBeer hahaha...
I have found my smarts and expiriece have offset any lack of reflexes I may have suffered and I have aged.

Had the same problems with the mouse but this works for me after a bit of trial and error - In the game settings, I checked "Use raw mouse input" and "reduce input lag" and the three mouse sensitivity options on .50

The change in mouse settings helped.
Also, I had to turn down the sensitivity to 30 lol for me to strafe/aim/shoot well. I was going the wrong way and kept going up thinking it would get better, but it got worse and worse in regards to keeping my reticule on a moving target.

I'm a fairly hardcore ps1 vet and I love the game. Apparently I am the vast minority of ps1 vets.

Most of the PS1 vets enjoying PS2 spend more time in game rather on the forums thinking up new grievances or milking an old one. :groovy:
Hello my name is Qwan and im a PS1 vet and ive been playing PS2 for about 2 months now. :D
I have one of those mouses with sensitivity buttons, its got like three levels. You may want to look into getting one of those, It comes in very handy when I go from ground troop to Magrider, to air ship. I cant remember for the life of me the name of the mouse (im at work). But it makes the change easy and a push of a button.

I walked into PS2 expecting anything but PS1. I'm enjoying the game as long as I can find people to shoot, though I hate losing.... and holding the crown typically equates to losing, but the crown w****s just refuse to see that. I'd say the game has a few balance issues to sort out among other things, but it's feeling like a pretty solid experience, if lacking in the long term goal department of continental conquest.
For now.
What most people need to realize is when they say "it's a battlefield clone!" that when PS1 released, we were relating it to Halo, only it was better because it was an MMOFPS. Same effect here for the CoD and BF fans, and most of them are playing the game, as opposed to complaining on a forum that PS2 is going to die because it doesn't play exactly like they want it to.
