If theres one thing this game is crying out for its certing vehicles. They can keep the class system, I'm fine with that now, but vehicles just need to be incorporated into it all somehow.
It just niggles me that we need to spend certs to gain a simple scope or buy a mcg, but can spawn at will any vehicle with no commitment.
Its like someone unzipped their cranium and threw their brain out with yesterdays garbage.
Then again, people watch the X factor, I guess Judgement day will be soon.

SOE.

And I know they hate hearing it, but PS1 had the solutions already.

* Cert for vehicles and a cert cap so everyone doesn't have access to everything.

* Limit the proximity range an AMS can deploy to another AMS.

Well you do have to cert for the AMS function. So that's something.

But I agree, now that you can get a Sunderer anywhere, they are EVERYWHERE. And I wouldn't mind so much if I could C4 them like I used to, but now that's nerfed to oblivion.

I wonder if a dedicated, cert required AMS would help. No guns, no passengers, cloaking bubble. Like PS1.

My gripe isn't directly at Sunderers. They will do something to sort that out, but then it will just move onto something else.
The solution is a simple one, but the game seems hell bent on going through puberty ad nausea until eventually all avenues have been exhausted and you come to the conclusion that no matter how you try, the wheel was invented to be round for a reason.

I gave SOE the benefit of the doubt, inorite, that they did see this coming but chose to ignore it.

They could see that sundies were already all over the place. Making them more available would increase this problem. I assumed they were working on something to reduce their numbers but just said "Meh, lets put this in the next patch". Why they would implement this feature without the AMS proximity mechanic is beyond my comprehension.

A proximity check must be added.

I thought thread title was Sunny side.

Too many sunderers. too much sun. Looks like BF3

Deploy restrictions were in Matt's upcoming metagame changes.

^^ yup.

It doesn't really matter if game balance is broken in beta, for example by adding one feature that requires a second feature to be balanced but not adding that second feature right away.

We know the proximity restriction is on the to-do list, and that is good enough.

Funny how much impact every change seems to have these days.

It'll be interesting to see how the AMS proximity feature affects the gameplay.

They should change the Sundy AMS Cert...

lvl 1 you get it but have an interference of 200m to nearest AMS sundy.
lvl 2 drop interference to 150m
lvl 3 MAX units can now be pulled from your sundy
lvl 4 drop interference to 100m
lvl 5 sundies can now be pulled at any vehicle spawn (including ATV spawns)

Specialization FTW

I hope this is true. I hope they limit it to the nearest s-ams, the nearest spawn tube and the warpgate, and squad spawn points ala sunderer.

Yea, make it so we have to choose. Put vehicles into two classes. single person and multi-person.

You have to chose to cert one of Flash or Lightning and Sundy or Tank .... and importantly, you can change your mind and go back and forth as you want with a cool-down.

Atm more Sunderers means more targets for our Mags; TR tried rushing Highlands yesterday with about 12 sunderers.
Five minutes later and all their sundys were blackened hulks and they had to foot slog from Indar Com.; bad move with most of the mags getting in some early mowing action.

In reality Sundys need a 150m minimum deploy radius that is visible on the mini-map to all in the area, otherwise drivers will just be constantly driving around spamming to deploy.

You guys are missing one thing, whats gonna happen when orbital get implimented. Total carnage LOL, remember those days a cloaked CR 5 creeps up to a ams and then bbbbaaaaammmmm racking up the xp.
