Armor color

What is the deal with the armor colors? If you advance in rank or get more certs, will your armor color change? Look at these two pics of the NC.

See how one armor is blue and the other is yellow. Who would be the higher ranked dude?

From what we've heard so far, the higher in rank you get, the more you armor changes into the secondary color. In the example you gave with the NC, Blue is the primary color, and Yellow is the Secondary color. So the guys in the first shot are n00bs since they are mostly blue. The guy in the second one is mostly yellow so he would be higher in rank.

For the TR the ones with more Red are higher in rank.

Now the question for he Vanu is what color they change into? I can onlt remeber seeing them as purple. I don't know what the secondary color is.

well i'll put in my two(or more) cents worth.....

the armour colour change is a hell good idea, for instance a sniper seeing a bright yellow suit runnin to the nearest cover would be thinkin' "hell yeah, time to bag me a general"....

it would also make people mascarading as n00bs for gains in different ways "hey im a n00b, gimme free guns" alot more diffucult, ive seen it happen in other games, especially rpg, n it sux big time. It makes people less genorous as the're not sure if they're actualy helpin a n00b get on his feet, or just helpin sum1 that doesn't really need it.

your rank changes as you get a certain number CEPs (if you don't know what CEPs are then lookin the FAQ). When your rank changes, your secondary color starts to take over more.

High ranking Vanu will be even harder to see now, the 2nd color is black so during night time they will be invisible. :D

I still dunno if i'll end up black or red. :/

The shots I have seen of the VS have shown them to have purple as their primary color. For their rank advancements, they have been getting little patches that are purple grey and green. I think it won't be so much a secondary color for the VS, but patches with the green and light purple VS symbol.

I guess no one else noticed that the NC guy is wielding the cycler, a TR only weapon, which tells us that you can use other empires weapons if you can get em.

i personally wish u could have some kind of equipment thingy that would be like a camo suit. all these bright colors kind of put me off, specially if were trying to save my ass if i ever get shot down and hide in a forest (wont EVER happen :cool: )

Low ranking TR will also be hard to see at night, unless you have leet Vanu eyesight.

I can vouch for morphius' highness.

I'm not sure of my chosen empire at the moment, but due to a squad forming in my little home town, I'm shifting towards NC. If anyone wants to try and convince me otherwise, feel free to do so ;)

As for the armor things, I can't say I'm all for the idea. I suppose it'd be ok. I'd rather that more developed players just had seemingly cooler and more complicated suits, you know, as not to provide a camo advantage but still signify how many BEPs/CEPs they have.

1) Vanu are the best, and you will never see me though your scope cause you will be dead long before. NC are a buncha skevy stoners. And you may not know this but yellow and blue are alot easier to see then purple and black. Also a sniper with sniper implants (range, speed, regen for me i thinks) will be alot better at sniping due to practice then the NC yokal pilot who wants to try his hand at it.

2) Why the fook do you need camo when you have a suit that makes you INVISABLE?

3) If we can use other empires weapons will we beable to buy ammo for em or will we have to kill em to get more. Also might an infiltrator beable to steal armor from a dead guy and use it to get on the inside?

4) TR would be oks but they have goggles and are all really old fools.

btw guys (especially sytadel, as ill be fightin' along side u most prob.) I'm not totally decided, vanu was my second choice, the only reason im swingin towards NC is coz im gunna be a stealth so cam not matter all that much... although it would be cool to be black.

Also is it just me or does vanu use mostly energy weapons, i prefer somthin with grunt, sumthin that doesnt sound like a children's toy, no better sound than a desert eagle round hitting the flor after nailin sum poor sod in the head.... but feal free to convince me otherwise ;)

How is a big .50 cal pistol cooler then a nergy weapon? Guns are cool but after you have been shooting for a few years the thrill of firing 'that big ole hand cannon" wears off. On a note i have never fired a desert egale. Mostly rifles at the range for me.

actually neither have i, but if you've seen "lock, stock and two smoking barrels" and "snatch" you'll know what i mean, bloody sweet gun...

unfortunately here in australia they're illegal (along with every other auto and semi-auto gun), not fair :(

we shall see though, if a energy pistol turns out to be much more quiet than a conventional one i might be forced to go VS, that is if they don't include a silencer (which im hoping for)

Remember, the NC MAG-scatter might be loud, but i garantee it will pack a massive punch, giving NC stealths a decided advantage

that would be an advantage yes, but the loudness may defeat the purpose.... nothing would alert a base (or part of it) more than hearin the distinctive sound of an enemy's weapon goin off, especially if its rally loud, if it were possible to silence it...... but i doubt it since its a type of shotgun right?

yeah, but you can use that to your advantage. get a couple of stealths in there and you can really mess with their heads. and if you need to do quite work you should use a melee booter and a knife anyway

i was actually meanin a more modern styled gun, like a desert eadle, slide back top (exposes barrel n flicks back), u know what i mean....
