Nice, Amerish is gorgeous indeed. If you want to show the beauty of a game, suggest you use 1080p video.

Yeah entirely forgot about rendering it in 1080p, it is though recorded in 1920x1080 high settings.

Got to agree with the OP; Amerish is stunning, even more so than Indar.
So much better than dreary Esamir.

Have to admit Amerish does finally look like a Planetside map
I was really awed by Indar initially. I do think the team did a good job with the map, but I just think they hit a home run with Amerish. The map is perfect IMO.

Indar has always struck me as a tool test map. I'm slightly surprised its shipping.

Thats exactly what it is. The map was originally just a testing ground for the game, but SOE turned it into a real cont. Its decent starting ground I guess towards doing better maps.

110% agreed.

Yea I wish they would redo it :(

Indar has it's flaws, yes, but it is actually pretty decent as it is. I would rather the Devs left Indar alone (other than minor fixes) and concentrated on new continents.
Whereas Esamir - once the novelty factor has gone, boring; fit only for tanks.

Haha I finally found the water last night and there was a group of soldiers standing in the water (taking a bath?). I thought I took a screenie of it but couldn't find it after I logged. Damn.

A friend of mine found it last night at grid C5

I really can't wait to see the PS1 continents redone, true to their original states but in PS2 style.
After watching this stunning Amerish video, I think PS2 needs to have birds flying around. It could add a hunting mini game too :P
A planet with liquid water in the habitable zone technically SHOULD have life on it, other than just plants!
EDIT: I don't actually think I've seen any liquid water yet, scratch that.
I think that the edges of the continents are 'out of bounds' to keep players from seeing the lack of an ocean, as well as it explains the lack of lakes and rivers so far. There is a bit of 'liquid water' in biolabs, but it's not even enough to drown in.

Yeah, I've already got the chance to see the oceans but as we can't go there I didn't consider them that much.
