I've mostly been playing NC, but if my abandoned TR and VS chars get 1000 points each, this gives me the chance to try them out with a bit of a head start before the pre release wipe (there will be one, won't there?)

Yeah, if you look at it that way, a pre launch wipe is an absolute must.

Interestingly, Red5 Studios are not doing a total wipe before the launch of Firefall; they have promised that players will retain all XP that they earn in Beta.

It looks really hit or miss whether your toon gets credited or not. Only 1 of my 2 did.

There's another reason why they have to wipe the database:

Name reservation!

Why should anyone buy Alpha Squad to reserve his characters name, when he could just keep the name because he created a character with that name a month ago?

Well a couple of hours ago I decided to mess about sniping with my much underused VS char, and was pleased to see 1007 certs! This was just before the latest server shut down.

(off topic: VS sniping = easy mode!)

You know whats better than logging in to see 1007 certs? Spending every bit of those 1007 certs, logging out to eat dinner, then logging back in to find that you now have 2000 additional certs lol. Not sure how it happened but i like it.

Lol yeah, it was awesome. I'm glad they're allowing a wider pool of people to test more stuff now. I was lucky to have made five characters one day prior to their announcement and they all had the certs so I'm able to test out a lot of stuff.

It was nice to be able to test those last few thing I wanted to try. In short, I found that flying and rockets are not my thing. Try it again when the joystick issues get worked out.
