How hard will it to destroy generators and inventory stations. Will it be like Tribes 1 where it was very fast to destroy them adn jsut a bit longer to repair them or like in Tribes 2(i only played at the very start if T2 so they may have changed this) where it took a good amount of time to destroy generators. Also will the lights go out when the power is lost like in T2.

It's going to take longer than in T2.

Armor piercing will probably wreck base equipment faster then normal rounds, and grenades will do damage too. Rocklets will probably work well too.

Actually the thing the engineer uses to plant turrets and mines is also a c4 remote bomb. So if you got like 4 of them on the generators and blew them all youd probably kill it.

You know how in the screenshots it shows that when you use or look at items for the first time, you see captions explaining their function and purpose? I just read on one of those new PSS screens that the generator auto repairs with nanites or something like that. So the Generators, when destroyed, will slowly auto repair.

Generators are pretty difficult to destroy, it's highly unlikely either of those games are a good comparison. I believe it has been described as "you can destroy them but it is very difficult" (paraphrasing of course).

I think the belief is, strategically it doesn't make sense to destroy a generator since you could basically capture the base as easy. You don't want to destroy the thing only to have it captured by your team soon after.

Agreed, gens should rarely be a target in this game. The inventory stations are good targets if the battle is big enough (and victory is not necessarily short-term) -- it will deprive them of battle-readiness.

Boomers aren't C4 charges, they are closer to claymores. So while they will probably do more damage then a clip from most of the rifles save the shotguns, a plasma grenade would be more effective.

Gen not a target? With the generator down, NOTHING in the base you are trying to take will work, except spawn tubes. This gives the assaulting team a great advantage.

They are saying, once you get the base, you want turrets and stuff working ASAP!

It really all depends on how long it takes to repair a generator, and how long it takes to destroy it. Until we know both of those things it's relatively m00t.

Generators are pretty hefty.

no actually destroying a gen can be helpful, especially when the empire that owns the base finds out u r attacking it, many people will want to spawn there... so all u do is blow up the gen and nobody can reinforce the other team

Wait so in this case there will be no need to blow gens if the spawn tubes will still work. Unless of course you dont spawn with armor and you have to run around naked becasue inventory stations are down. I hope that the spawn tubes dont work when the gens are down, this will bring a whole new spectrum and people will want to some what split up and not just rush after the cap room.

I see it as more of a harassing thing. Someone sneaks in, blows the generators in a dropship base, viola, no reinforcements to other engagements for a while. Or you could blow the generators in a distant base, everyone will panic and rush to defend... meanwhile you go nab another base while they are distracted :)

I seriously doubt a plasma grenade will be more effective than a Boomer. Also, Boomers are remote detonated high explosives. Sounds kinda like C4 to me.

I read that you spawned with your "kit" you had on when you died...

There is also the question how good jammer grenades are on base equipment... Throw a jammer nade on a spawn tube and disable it for a min while you destroy it etc...

Will doors work if the generator is down ? They are electrical after all...

:)
