I'm curious to see where everyone is taking their Outfits, I don't know if it's better to follow the zerg or avoid it. I just don't want to end up on a 14% population TR server, that shit was awful a couple months ago. I want to see which way the wind blows.

As far as the server pops go...I think they will be fine as there as been so much hype for this game there are gonna be alot of people that play it so the pop shouldnt be very much of a problem. What does need to have though, is the vets and experienced people need to educate the newer players..(if they ask for help) and try and point them in the right direction.

I meant "zerg" Outfits. Outfits that by themselves, can imbalance the population of a server. We saw a lot of that before the beta servers were consolidated into Thebe, some were constantly 80% TR and others had 18% TR.

it wasn't a complaint, it was a statement of fact, never has an MMO been released with worse server names.

I hope they have some more servers ready I would imagine with just having 2 EU servers they will fill up instantly. If its 2000 per map and 3 maps that's about 6000 people per server roughly so about 12,000 slots for EU folk that will be filled instantly especially with it being on steam.

I really hope they do not underestimate how many people will play this on launch, will be horrible to see it have a standard mmo servers melting launch.

^ although true I would rather have them have the current amount of servers than too many. they can always add more if need be. if they have too many at launch then cutting servers is more complicated than adding a couple more.

I always felt that "Emerald" was one of the worst server names ever.

GW2 had one of the best names ever with "Yaks Bend" even though the server itself wasnt much.

I didn't like the names either, and i also think they'll really need more servers. Though if they are prepared to launch more on the fly it'll be ok, it's better to have full servers and some complaints at first than to have a thousand servers that will end up ghost towns like what happened to the warhammer mmo. :p

maybe the spare servercapacity will be needed and the additional servers get better names? could even help to get new players to sign up there instead of where the party already is running ;)

It doesnt matter they have ready capacity for another 100 servers. Those are servers they announced and those are servers outfits are preparing for. Prepare for heavy bitching and whining, as those servers will be with massive queues and others empty, because ppl will want to go to their outfits, not on some different server.

They underestimated this, and i hope they have some quick tools for transfer whole outfits or else is hard to disband and move everyone somewhere else.

And i want Werner back. Who made those horrible names?

They should just pick a theme for the names, like naming the servers after various outposts with certain regions sharing the names of outposts from the same continent.

I'm not an MMO guy, mainly FPS and S/JRPG in my history, so I was wondering if somebody could explain something to me. Why are characters locked to one server? Shouldn't you be able to join whatever server and have the same one? It kinda sucks because you can only ever play with people from the same region, who also happened to pick the same server in that region, unless you want to unlock everything all over again (which you paid money for...). It seems bizarre to me.

Its great for faction loyalty, and enemy outfits rivalry. You end up knowing them, fear them. You take some territories or even continents as your own.
Sure server hopping is great for population ballancing, and server load as you dont have empty servers. But you dont have any connection to land you conquering and you lose big part of incentive to fight for it.

Factor 1: Wherever the veteran New Conglomerate Alliance outfits go ALL TOGETHER - Sturmgrenadier, Blue Lions, 666th Devil Dogs, The Renegades, Supertroopers, etc.

Factor 2: East Coast

Factor 3: Veteran enemy outfits

Factor 4: Where ever the Enclave is NOT

The Renegades are waiting in the wings to see what the NCA decision will be. I read Sturmgrenadier is going East Coast, and Blue Lions said they would switch back to East Coast. My outfit leader - Fishfisinick wants East Coast.

And we've got Aleksey back, so roll with us and you will be told to, "Get off Cyssor!" in multicolors of course!

Your Outfit should already be talking with your allies about which server you are going too.

And I imaging the 25 servers mentioned are only there as backups when the announced servers fill up.

The problem with shitty server names stems from the completely generic, uncreative and stereotypically western names given to the characters in the lore created by Wolfman.

Aldman only said where they were currently on Lysithea before beta closed, not where they are going in the future. Ok, so I must have read it on the closed beta recruitment forums. It was a discussion about going to a east server so that the western and European players could come join in on either side of that time zone. But if that's not the plan, that's cool. I hope you guys stick with a unified NCA decision.

Just curious how they convince ppl to get there, since theyll will want to go to their outfits on full servers. I just hope they have easy and quick character/outfit server transfers ready.

if outfits are concerned with overpopulation then perhaps they should rethink their plan of stacking particular servers or going to said stacked servers, I don't think its SOE's responsibility to compensate for players stupidity or lack of foresight.

Same here... And I'm a Terran main...

No offense to the Majority of the Enclave, since they were the major backers of a lot of pushes when we were on the same server, but someone with "Buzzcut" in their name joining my recruitment Squad just to say "Join the Enclave" left a bad taste in my mouth...

...Also doesn't help that our founder thinks "Light Assaults dropped out of Galaxies" is enough of a gimmick to differentiate ourselves.

The game is about battling it out against foes, and hopefully destroying them and taking what was once theirs. Running from a fight because 'Oh there are too many' is not how we play. I've seen their tactics. They can be crushed with just a little bit of teamwork.

Many outfits are worried that Enclave will turn whatever server they land on into a TR circle jerk. That is a self fulfilling prophecy as they roll somewhere else and further reduce the competition.

Even as a semi-competitive TR Outfit, I worry about that. I do not want to be on an overpopulated TR server, there is no challenge or fun in that.
