Not sure if this was explained before, but I couldn't find it.
What guns are unlocked?
Do we get to choose? Can we unlock four guns from each empire or any mix thereof? Does it include infantry AV weapons?

As I recall, it's an SMG, LMG, Rifle and something else for each empire. No choice, no AV.

I see. Do we know which ones or will it be a surprise when we log in?

You get 1 light machine gun, 1 carbine, 1 assault rifle and 1 sniper rifle for each empire.
The weapons are account-bound so every character you create will have his empire's 4 weapons unlocked.
You don't choose the weapons you unlock with alpha squad.

Wait a minute, what guns do non-alpha players get? Don't they already get one of each type (e.g., gauss, gauss saw, mercenary, bolt action, etc.). So alpha will bump us one more gun deeper into each class, right?

All the guns unlocked with alpha squad can be bought with certs or SC.
What I meant was that alpha squad buyers don't choose the guns they unlock with it.
But yes alpha squad will have more choice at the start, that's the whole point of paying for sidegrades.

Yep.
You can also use your SC to get other stuff such as AV or AA on top.

But we don't get to choose, they (whatever they may be) will just be unlocked?

There are "default" guns unlocked for all players. Alpha squad gets extra guns from the shop....

Don't remember those guns quite honestly. I wonder if those are it?
I went three or four guns deep into the light assault and heavy assault weapons for each empire, including the shotgun and all three HA old school weapons and I know what guns I like.
I wish I had choice.

The first time I saw it, it just said '12 unlocks', never seen anything saying we actually choose them. Since the first detailed announcement I saw it was always 4 for each side, then they were identified.

Yeah, I haven't looked at the details of alpha squad since I purchased it, which was a while ago. What I remember was that it just said 12 gun unlocks from all empires without listing the weapons. Really wasn't clear to me back then.

It never said anything about choosing. The weapons that are unlocked were on a list on the alpha squad page from the beginning when you could purchase it and I purchased it with that in mind. There was no question about it, the list was there and everyone could see it.
The 12 weapons are 1 weapon for each of the 4 classes of all 3 factions = 12 weapons.
What still is in question is the 10% XP boost for 6 months. On the page it said you would get it, but it did not specify HOW you'd get it. I really hope it's not an implant, because then you can't combine it with other bossts, which would really suck. I will feel like a very poorly treated customer if it's not "running in the background" like the memberships will.

Yeah, I didn't see the list. Of course, I didn't click any links on the launcher alpha squad advertisement other than the purchase one, so it was my fault.
Which brings to the list posted by Alox, is his correct? If so, I don't remember seeing those guns in beta? Were they in beta?

It is an implant and if you use a store boost it will overwrite it. The only thing we really don't know is whether or not the Alpha Squad implant will start off actively in the boost slot or if it just sits in a list of available implants to equip (kind of like the old implants, you could buy multiple even though you could only use one at a time).

I don't think the guns were in the beta at all. They will be new guns that are added at launch but I believe anyone is able to buy them. Alpha Squad just gets you them for free.

At least the TR weapons were represented by name, but who knows...
Carbine T5-AMC, used to be the "NC variant" of the carbines before they changed it to almost match the stock one.
SR-7 is a bolt action sniper rifle.
TMG-50 was a higher damage, slower firing med-long range LMG. (compared to the Carv)
And I guess the assault rifle was there too, although I can't remember seeing it.

Hi,
I am pretty sure 95% that I saw a Higby post on forums saying that all account based boosts such as membership boosters and the alpha squad boosters were account based, not implant based.
I am saying that the 10% boost is not an implant, but an account attached boost as all your characters will gain it for 6 months.
Someone can confirm, but I'd be willing to bet a sandwich on it.

I believe it was Smedly who was asked by Hamma today on AGN on these questions.
As I understood Smedly's response the 10% from Alpha squad is an implant and does not stack with other exp booster implants, but both of those do stack with membership boosters which are not implants.
The AGN panels from today should be up on Youtube if not now soon, and you can hear for yourself.

Thanks, wasn't aware of that. Sony needs lessons in customer interface, simplicity and intuition badly.

Membership stacks with the Alpha Squad implant or a boost implant from the store. The Alpha Squad implant does not stack with implants from the store. The most you can get for a XP boost is:
50% (6+ month membership)
65% (store boost implant)
35% (comes with the 65% implant but your squad leader must be the one using it)

Yeah, that sucks, I read Higbys post in the forums some months ago, I hoped they would change their mind on that.
On tha alpha squad page it said "Get a 10% Boost for 6 months!". It never said "Get a 10% Boost implant that you will loose if you use another implant!". I bought alpha squad to support the game and the devs and I feel a little bit deceived if I get something much shittier than they described in their advertising... just my 2 cents.

Can't speak for the other empires, but the EM6 LMG and the LA80 semi-auto sniper are really nice. Haven't seen the AR and the carbine ingame though.

WTT Alpha-class sniper rifle for machine pistol and cloak suit that actually cloaks.
:)
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the VS carbine listed as an AS unlockable - the Pulsar Compact, a default weapon anyway?

Someone else just asked a good question regarding SC unlocks, which had me thinking about the alpha squad unlocks.
Will these unlocks be limited to one character per faction? Or will I have access to them on different servers or multiple characters from the same faction on the same server?
Say I create a character on server X. A month later, decide to create a new character on server Y to be my "primary," will that second character get it as well?
I think it should. Anyone know?

Station Cash purchases are per character. Alpha Squad/Membership benefits are account-wide
