im one of those persons that wants to know every +1 and -1 before it gets serious
thus i got myself a list of which unlocks im gonna get first
my main focus is gonna be ground combat
here's my list:
(be aware that some things are gonna be purchased instantly with station cash from alpha squad)

(unlocks that come after the primary unlocks, and in no specific order)

Going to focus mainly on certs for LA (C4, Jumpjets, Lynx, etc) and then probably move on to buffing up my Mosquito.
I had every intention of going full on Infiltrator in this game....but C4 + Jumpjets is too damn fun!

Don't have a specific list but I know some early picks....ish.
What I want to try and do is alternate something that's good for me with something that's good for the empire/outfit/squad. Can't play PS whatever the number after it without being a bit of a support nutjob.
Intend to save back some of the Smed' bucks that come with the sub' in case any goodies turn up in a month or so, like Buggies.

Cert wise i'll be grabbing S-AMS followed by Resto Kits, then Reflex Sights.
SC wise i'll be grabbing a second Burster arm, Shotguns, an Rocket Pods. Would like to buy some of the vehicle weapons but i'm expecting lots of nerfs, and rebalancing to those once they are in wide circulation. Want to see where the chips fall before I spend anything.

I have a fairly short 'things to buy list' this consists of the anti-armour rockets and either the anti-air rockets or the other arm for the burster.
With certs it's reflex, supressor and forward grip for the trac, cycler and carv and also the armour and the health tool buffs.
I may buy the AV gun for the tank and I'll use certs to improve the ammo carries and to reduce the reload time.
I'd would have wanted to add in the mines for the engy, but at present they're not woth it.

Yeah that's a good point. Funny they never added any sway for the other guns. Really should be applied to all guns, and slighty reduce the bullet spread.

Whoah, depends who you're playing against. I had no better use in the last week or so of beta than to constantly blow all my infantry resources on the AP mines and they would rack up a ton of kills.
Last night before the server went pop we were being kicked by a big old TR zerg at Indar Exec'. I sat up in the spawn room dropping mines down through the shields. So many kills. Got one kill, group of medics ran forward to rez' the bugger, few more kills and so on and so forth. Real...

....stuff. Not to mention all the other kills I had with them in that last week, great in Bio lab's, pretty much any infantry fight. You can whack 'em down on the corner of a building, run out and shake your arse at someone and leg it back around the corner and a few seconds later, easy kill. :D

All Sniper Rifles
A Pistol
About 4-5 Vehicle Turrets
Which still leaves me with like 15k station cash to spend lol. I plan on getting some camos too

With 5000 smedbucks I will get:
Liberator
Tank buster canon (250)
Zepher (700)
W40 Walker (500)
Total: I did the math in game that came up with 1300SC
Infantry
Heavy battle rifle (700) -> No stats on this in game, I gotta guiney pig this.
AA launcher (700) -> keeps the flies off my back at least.
So I still have 1300SC left over for a chaingun if necessary or more camo, masks etc.
As for certs:
Liberator:
High speed airframe
Chaff (until I unlock the 1000 cert afterburner)
Zepher zoom (high altitude, high energy, precision bombing)
Tank buster zoom
Composite armor
zepher mag increase (if available)
Infantry (main is HA, engineer for vehicles & farming)
Engineer repair gun
nanoweave armor (1-3)
Battle rifle grip, compensator, x4 scope (maybe x6)
LMG T50 (included in alpha) compensator, grip x2 reflex
HA resist shield
max nanoweave
medikits (very important)
Flash (optional)

Thats most of what I want to slowly get. I have the alpha pack but sudden unemployment leaves me in the dust for cert gain. At least I start with the guns I want.

i stocked up on stationcash and will use it to buy most max upgrades like weapons and ammo canisters first.
then i will pimp my engineer, not sure exactly how.
and the sundy ams of course.
if joystick support is fixed, i would also check the liberator upgrades.

Arg nice one, forgot flares, they're pretty much vital. Those and the rockets are all i'm getting for the mossie since i'm pretty atrocious at dog fighting, but alright at zipping in and hitting ground targets.
Engineer is definately my most played class in the beta. The A/V turret bothers me though cos you'd think something like that would effect balance quite a bit, unless it only scratches paintjobs.
Saving most of my SC for cosmetics. Those composite helmets and armour look nice. Will pass on the skulls :P although the max one looks pretty good.

the T50 in alpha squad is the T50 B
B standing for burst
do not know how good it is but do you prefer that above auto?

Everything, except gun grips and dot sights, I unlocked is useless.
I unlocked the A2A missile which is less effective than Skyguard
I unlocked Skyguard which is worse than AA MAX
I unlocked AA MAX which got it's COF nerfed, now you can't hit anything beyond 100 meters
I unlocked tank AP cannon, but it only does like 10% more damage than HEAT, sacrificing splash damage is not worth it.
I unlocked tank 50 CAL anti-infantry weapon which does less damage to infantry than default gunner.
I unlocked claymore mines, which is worthless except for lulz (placing them in spawn room just before you lose base).
Oh wait, I unlocked Liberator zephyr, that seems to be pretty good.
They should have stuck with the sidegrade concept. Most of these are upgrades, not sidegrades, and because they are upgrades they are made useless.

Ill probably buy a couple of weapons with station cash first thing. One of the NC shot guns and the Shadow scout rifle(its not a good gun but its the best option IMO) and maybe an NC carbine.
My first cets will be scope and fore grips.

Apart from a silly camo or 2 I probably won't use SC much. I want to see them settle down about how weapons should work before spending more smedbucks. I'm particularily thinking about air here.

Gotta see how much everything costs, but with my Smedbucks I'm buying Shotgun for my LA, then LA Composite Armor and Helmet and maybe a skull helmet. After that I will see what I'm left with. Gotta see how the Alpha Squad unlocks are also.
Then maxing jump jets with certs ASAP.
Probably a shotgun, the GDS 22, homing RPG, AA burster, AA skyguard, heavy assault composite armor / helmet

Going to focus on Light Assault and Infil. I want to get the MCG When I can afford it (maybe I'll get it with SC)
I want the C4 for light assault, and the grenade launcher for the Trac-5, or another LA carbine.
I want to get the AMS, Prowler certs, and Mossie certs racked up. Basic zoom on all other vehicle weapons, and scopes for guns of each class.

The MCG for Terran Republic (You could chew up squads of people on a staircase so easily with that thing...), one of the lightnings cannons, mortar on the lib, and the bolt action rifle for the TR.
Ill spend my certs on beefing up the medic class for play with friends.

Because of vehicles, I found myself playing engineer most of the time. So I start with:
reflex sight
med kits
fwd grip (if it's in) or any carbine performance improvement
When I'm lone wolving, I play mostly medic and infiltrator. So after that:
ams module
laser sight for the assault rifle
heal grenade
hacking
12x scope
Next on the list is making light assault a more fun class
jump jets performance improvement
speed increase
C4
Although the heavy assault is my go-to infantry class in outfit play, its arsenal and performance is pretty potent right out of the box. So this one is last on my list (MAX is too situational for me to invest in):
reflex sight
LMG performance improvements like fwd grip, if they're in
anti-vehicle rockets
anti-air rockets
After that, everything goes. I will probably take a look at (nanonite) armor for individual classes or improve tanks, lightnings or ESFs.
So basically, I'm going the jack-of-all trades route because situational versatility gives me the most fun in this game, especially when playing in outfits.
My smedbucks will go into cosmetic stuff and I will certainly not grind for any weapons until the stats are up at symthic (http://symthic.com).

I bought Alpha Squad so any further weapon purchases will depend on 1) how good the VS weapons bundled w/ AS are, and 2) which VS carbine you get w/ AS, since the AS FAQ listed the Pulsar C, but that's the default carbine you start out with.
I also play Engie, LA, and HA pretty evenly so I'll be spreading my certs amongst the 3 classes as I earn them.
That said, here's my shopping list:
With SC
Scythe Rocket Pods
Scythe Hailstorm MG
HRB For the Magrider top turret
HA AA Rocket Launcher (Nemesis?)
LSW (If the SVA88 LMG that comes w/ AS sux)
VX6.7 carbine (if the AS carbine sux)
With Certs
Laser sights, soft ammo, and 4x scopes for the Orion, Pulsar C, and VX6.7 (I think the 6.7 only has 3.4x available tho)
HA Resist Shield x1
Medkit x1
Nanoweave x1-x3 (cost depending)
CR1 (for Squad Beacons)
That's my immediate goal. But other must-haves are:
2nd & 3rd medkit
LA default Jumpjet improvements
soft ammo and maybe compensators for any other weapons I use
Laser sight for the Beamer (no joke)
Higher nanoweave (x3 minimum, probably x5 for HA & LA)
S-AMS
Foregrip and 6x scope for SVA88 (or for LSW if the SVA sux)
Magrider front armour
Scythe Flares and A2G performance (the one w/ Hover and Elevate bonuses)
1st zoom level for all vehicle weapons

The Nova is pretty beastly.
Though the only weapons i think ill be unlocking with SC would be one of the NC shotguns. I fell in love with the EM1 but then it went back to the regular Gauss Saw after the last big patch, shocking i know. For some reason the SAW just felt a bit better.

Probably nothing with that cert rate for the next few months. Have 1500 Smed bucks but wanted to keep those for camo.
Then again, I am not sure I even want to play PS2 anymore didn't really enjoy it as much I did with PS1 beta.

First try-before-you-buy weapon test: the carbine that lets you strafe at full speed while ADS

-basic LA kit
-non-LA optics
-things that are cheap and useful, like the first level of engy and medic tool upgrades
