Which server will you go?

Perhaps there's a thread floating around somewhere that's like this but I could not find it. Then again I'm prone to momentary lapses of blindness. Anyhow..! During the beta I played on the US East server Lysi(something? Can't remember >>; ) And there were a couple of outfits I can recall in particular there that I enjoyed playing with on NC. Such as WMD, Renegades and Sunder Military Gaming.

I guess my question is does anyone know what servers majority of the outfits will be going? Not neccasarilly NC only, I'd like to know where everyone is thinking about calling their home.

I'm in Cali, in the LA area. I can't really get much more west coast. Unfortunately, East servers seem to be getting all of the attention, so I'm undecided. I might just have to accept a bit of lag to be a part of the planetside community at launch - we'll see though.

I did notice most of the outfits seemed to be flocking towards the East, of that people are speculating it's looking like Mattherson over Waterson. The Renegades are really waiting in the wings to see where the bulk of the NC veteran outfits go. We're leaning towards East Coast.

Supertroopers is also considering East Coast - Mattherson - and NCLynx stated that vets were chattering about this server.

Sturmgrenadiers, although just finishing closed beta on EC, are undecided.

Devil Dogs are saying they're going to Connery on the WC.

Blue Lions stated they are/might switch back to EC.


The East Coast servers were horrible in the first half of beta, and now they work great. On the last day of beta, we played on Thebe and the lag for us was bad. We're hoping that was just because of the intense amount of people on the server, although there was no queue.

I'm glad to hear you haven't run into much lag. That is really reassuring. Also, I'm guessing the leaderboard, when it goes live, will list which outfits are on which server. I'll have a couple months before I get home so I'll be watching carefully :groovy:

Now, just out of curiosity, what happens when the lists get published, and everyone flocks to one server? Assuming the population cap is reached, I see there being a problem with outfits being split up with mobs of angry gamers.

A bunch of WC outfits are joining Connery it looks like. As far as EC goes I only know that TR Enclave is going Matherson. And it seems Miller is the EU server of choice.

I wouldnt worry about SG, they arent anything like they used to be, I just quit them as have a good amount of members. Mattherson is where the party will be.

Let me guess they kicked you out and now your just hurt and trying to just say anything you can against them. Those Sturmys though won't say boo back to you because we'll that's just not their way. So you'll keep flapping your jaws and only newbies that don't know anybetter will listen to you.

From what I see they still have the magic, and you sir just enjoy trying to say anything negative about them anytime you can.

How about this you go play on your "high energy server" that you self-proclaimed much like BuzzCut Psycho did in beta and leave the grownups that enjoy playing those Blue & Gold colors to their fun.

Nothing worse than a self-important/blowhard with a twitchy channel boasting about his kills/scores. Reminds me of those that used to run around PS1 with surge and a jackhammer/lasher/or chaingun and boast how "score size does matter.." another little boy with a big mouth and a little weapon.

Iv been saying for sometime now that SOE should condense the population to 1-2 contents in offpeak, it makes no sense to add more land to a game with a reducing population.

I don't have an outfit yet but I'll be rolling on Miller since just about everyone and their dog is going there for EU. Better to be on a packed laggy server with queues than a ghost town server I recon.

I'm really really hoping they show us the ping to each server at launch. I didn't see any pings in beta so my hopes are low but it'd be nice for helping me decide since ping plays a big impact on competive fps games

NA - Terran Republic [PS 1] = Waterson
EU - Terran Republic [PS 4] = Miller
EU - Vanu Sovereignty [PS 5] = Woodman
OC - Vanu Sovereignty [PS 8] = Briggs

The only real difference between the servers is there are going to be ones with lots of organized outfits, and the others are ones where organized outfits will form from the ashes of war rather then existing now. For me i prefer the latter.

Quantum Dawn, were a Vanu outfit, well be going to waterson. Alot of the larger vanu outfits are going to matherson i believe.
