First of all, I apologize up front for the rampant speculation I am about to embark upon. That being said...
The beta 5th week update sure did make it sound like this game should be ready on May 19th. I know there is not an OFFICIAL release date for this game, but the projected date listed on the store site for pre-orders sure does seem pretty accurate.

I mean already an entire continent populated and 400 simultaneous users, yet no mention of significant game-crashing type bugs. Is this just an overly optimistic presentation of beta, or is this fairly true? As far as I can tell, practically all of the main game elements seem to be in place and the beta appears to be progressing quite nicely.

It doesn't seem like it will be too long before straight up stress testing occurs, and then that's pretty much it. The 5th week update of the beta already mentions heading toward the home stretch.

Can it be, is this game doing that well development-wise? If so, then wow! Maybe you guys can help out the SW team. j/k, no offense intended. I'm sure they're working just as hard...they're two entirely different games and comparing them development-wise probably isn't fair.

Nonetheless, May 19th is looking like a pretty sure shot. Hopefully...

Doesn't he know they use computers for these days... ahh well.

Without touching on the subject of actual release date. But I can tell you that the game is almost entirely in a "polish" state. It's stable and playable, but not yet deliverable. Think of it like a Superman movie that looks great, but there are still some wires showing in the flight scenes. We have some pretty high standards to meet before we'll actual put it out the door. Overall, it's so that we can give you the best experience that we possibly can.

At least we'll have a solid product. I don't think there was ever a doubt that PS would be relatively bug free, since most MMOG bugs are in pathing, npc dialogue, pathing, trade skills, and pathing.

Likewise, PS dodged the PVM balance bullet. I think the simplicity is going to pay dividends in Fun.
