View Full Version : Just became a subscriber - lose a day of sub time?
I just splurged a bit and got myself the 6 month membership, but I am less than pleased that my subscription appears to be marked active today and that my next payment is scheduled for May 19th. Why wouldn't the 6 month counter start tomorrow?!

Just think of it as getting your 500 Smed Cash earlier than expected :p
I get mine 2 days earlier than everyone else.

On the upside the percentage of lost time is lessened somewhat compared to a paltry one month investment... This is Highway robbery! If internet is a highway that is. Need to get off the carriage and ask those gentlemen over there, in dark clothes and shifty mannerisms... Sounds like a plan!
Edit: Set your clocks for any veteran perks, we might have the last laugh first eventually. That didn't make sense but... !

I think if it were the other way around more people would be complaining abut now being able to use their SC on day1 ;)

I subscribed testerday.
I suppose its possible that I lost 40 cents on the transaction - but im not concerned.
If it turns out that log fo a week or so because of server issues - then I might be annoyed.

If you call soe they can cancel it for you. I called em and got them to refund my one month sub and changed to a 6 month plan. In fact they said you weren't supposed to be able to even buy it yet so they were very accommodating. She said they'll be happy to fix any issues with people as long as they are patient as she quoted everything will be a bit "wonky" (sounded hot when she said it) during the first days after launch.

You're right it's not a big deal monetarily, but my OCD prefers that my renewal date be on the 20th. Today is exactly 6 month before May 20th, which was the day that Planetside 1 came out.

Because you can start playing to day... It's not SOE's fault if you don't have a 5 ping 1000 MB/s down cable. Not that I have one though. But I have the option to get one in my apartment if I want to spend €89/month on it.

Sorry for the confusion Sunrock - this was posted yesterday (the 19th), when it was quite impossible to play.

Oh as I live in central Europe it looks like you posted it on the 20th in the morning...
So I guess that is way. SOE started the membership when the 20'th started in Europe and as US is 6 to 9 hours a head of Europe...

I'm from germany and bought it as soon as I saw it, simply cuz I was afraid pro7 is gonna make it 15€ per month instead of current 15$~10€. Pro7 did a similar thing on the alpha squad converting it to 35€ which is quite a bit more than 40$.
Also, since we are talking days here. Imagine ppl buying a one month subscrition in feburary, they lose up to 3 days
