Could anyone recommend a good gaming headset that isn't too expensive?

Around the £40-50 mark would be great.

I'm looking for a headset, so with a mic built in as well.

If anyone has any strong recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!

Logitech G35 Gaming headset. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G35-Gaming-Headset-PC/dp/B001UQ6FSE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353478196&sr=8-1)

Its a really good headset, can be a bit uncomfortable after many hours use, but the mic boom and build quality are top notch. It does a good job of blocking out almost ALL outside noise, my wife has to throw something at me to get my attention.

Corsair Vengeance 7.1 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CA-9011112-WW-Vengeance-Gaming-Headset/dp/B005QUQP7G/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1353478349&sr=1-1)

My wife uses the Corsair, they are excellent build quality as well and match the Logitech. They are more comfortable on the head, but block out less outside noise. My minor gripe with them is the USB cable that is sheathed in Nylon, it always seems to be a tangled mess no matter how many times you stretch it out.

Personally I prefer the Logitech over the Corsair because of the way it blocks out all the sound from the room around me making it a more immersive experience, Logitech's drivers support and quality, and the damn cord.

Smegz, they're both £70-£80

A thread still on the front page of the tech forum.

And to prove the point...

You can get the Zalman mic for less than £10. That leaves you with £40+ to spend on headphones that sound like they're worth £40+, as opposed to a headset that'll sound like £10 headphones.

If you still want a headset after that, I can't honestly name a headset below £65 (Siberia V2s), you typically need to pay that much just for a passable quality. You'd probably be looking at a Plantronics headset, or some on-ear headset like the Razer Piranha.

I agree, everything else I have had under this price was kind of cheap crap that ended up breaking. Its why I suggested those.
