Hey everyone, long time player and user here.

In the last couple months, we have set up a network of PS2 streamers (and a few others) called Advanced Gamers. Right now we have the largest consolidation of PS2 streamers online in the world.

We have recently started to spread our love to the world of reddit, and could really use your guys upvotes to help get this community noticed and moving in the right direction.

Through our streams we do giveaways, event tickets, station cash, etc... But the main purpose is to keep this community growing and headed in the right direction. We will be starting with a new show as well labeled "State of Auraxis", as well as analysis and discussion on latest patch notes, tournaments, players, bugs, and anything else we can think of.

If you guys could throw some upvotes to http://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/13p6p1/advanced_gamers_the_most_condensed_ps2_twitch/ It would be REALLY appreciated.

Well for one thing, no one is making any money off of this, so no, its not advertising.

This is a twitch system designed to house the ps2 community under one roof. It makes it easier for people to find all their favorite PS2 streamers, while building the community as a whole.

The ultimate goal for the team working on this system is to work with everyone and help get this community to the level of sc2 | LoL one day. We are working round the clock to help this e-community thrive. With one of the best launches in MMO history, there is no reason why this community cannot thrive.

Woah woah woah? I could have been making money all this time?!?

Serious question though why isn't it called PlanetSide 2, or PlanetSide 2 Streamers or something?

Because we are talking about AVG as a whole. I didn't want to promote any single streamer in the thread, just the community.

No.. I mean why is it called Advanced Gamers and not something more PlanetSide related, or is it a group for people streaming all games.

Its more than just PS2, but right now PS2 holds the most of the stream sessions.

The story behind AvG was actually a joke that started back in WoW. A few friends, including myself, were making jokes at another player who couldn't make a exploited wall jump. We started calling ourselves "advanced gamers" because we could indeed make that giant jump. After we made the guild, it turned into a big hit on our server, and we actually had about 130 players in our guild.

We then branched out into other games, and started accepting other streamers into the mix. We are also working on a website but have to jump through a lot of loopholes with twitch.tv to sort everything out.

Its actually going to be pretty cool hopefully!

Yes, bringing the PS2 stream community together, and now trying to help the foundation of it spring into a much larger entertainment source for the community to enjoy means I have an e-peen.

I hate getting caught in the act.

- Had a fantastic stream with John and Adam (@arclegger and @thejohnfavaro) tonight. Make sure to also check out Buzzcutpsycho, Sujien, Testyvenom, and all the other PS2 streamers attached to AvG! Thank you for all the views and we hope that we can continue to help this community grow. It looks as if we will be having a SC giveaway soon so stay tuned. We will also be doing an AvG challenge night, where everyone involved has to complete a series of tasks in game and will be rewarded for their accomplishments. Please continue to support sites such as PSU, as they are a main source of information into the PS2 world and without them none of this would even be possible.

It was bringing attention to things to create drama. Now we can get back to focusing on the network itself and help it build.

So you had it locked and deleted? Just what are you trying to hide by doing that? Seems a little fishy to me.

And obviously "creating drama" is infinitely more wrong than, you know, racism? Seriously, could you get more predictable? It's like you have Defending Prejudice 101 open next to your computer.

I'm disappointed that the conversation would get deleted, and not this entire post (the latter, while not perfect, would've been infinitely better). Whoever did that is seriously sending the wrong message here.

I don't really think PSU wants to be associated, however weakly, with a stream network with very bad quality control, and who don't really give two shits about the people who might watch. I doubt that's really something they want to "help build" through their forum.

A roster in the thread would be nice so people don't have to follow links just to find out who all they might see in the group. I am sure you have stream contributors that can be more positively focused on that would help entice more people to jump in and build your community in a positive direction instead of focusing on the negative associated with your group so far. Just a suggestion.

I do think the intention is good. So I hope you don't take my suggestion as a negative post. Trying to help you redirect the focus of the goal here.

-edit-
Oh, also put the outfit they belong to in with the name if you do put a full roster in your main post. I am sure some people will like to know what outfits are out there and that will help promote those communities as well. Again just an idea.

I discussed this with Hamma. I would have preferred the original discussion not to be deleted; it was by no means a flame war and deleting part of a topic about such an important issue is sending out the wrong signal imo. If you want to stop the discussion as admin, I would rather have it locked.

On the other side I want to make clear that there was never any intention to deliberately torpedo FortySe7en new business. Although I wholeheartedly disagree with him not taking any responsibility of the content quality (imo, it's a racism accident waiting to happen that will sooner or later boomerang back on his business), I wish him all the luck.

In the end, it's up to Hamma to decide on how to deal with these discussions because they will continue to pop up in the future for sure.

If anyone has an issue with the content of a Twitch streamers broadcast and they feel it violates the Twitch TOS then use the reporting features Twitch has in place. Griping about it to 47 isn't the way to go about it.

Buzz is a polarizing individual and I will admit I had a moment of pause before deciding to join AvG because of him but in the end I felt the positives of the other members such as Him vs Her or Sujieun outweighed him.

This is what I am talking about. List all the people that have joined.. Him Vs Her is something I know from youtube.. so getting a list of all the people that contribute to the group in a roster on the original post would help to see what all the group as a whole has to offer and get more people to join in putting it all in a more positive light.

I will go ahead later today and update the thread with a list of streamers under AvG. I will also try to get their outfits up there.

Thank you very much for this feedback. It should be up sometime this afternoon as soon as I get some time here.

Ok guys, the thread was cleaned by me as to not bring attention to those who don't deserve it. Let's just keep this on topic, a network of streamers that FortySe7en runs. Other conversations are going on not for public consumption.

Welcome AZURE TWILIGHT to AvG. They have been a large part of the PS2 community for a long time. Hopefully with them in the picture, as well as PSU letting us have this thread, we can really start to grow this planetside 2 community!
