I read the forums all the time but just thought I would share with you my excitement for PS and what I am looking forward to.
1. I absolutely can not wait to play in a game where there are combined forces. I am so tired of playing FPS shootem games where the main differences is how the maps look and the new skins on soldiers. In the end it is just guys running around with guns. PS has that, but it also has ground vehicles, arial vehicles, various different types of ground forces.
2. A persistant world for FPS!!! Holy sh*t! I tried Anarchy Online, my first and since only persistant world game. Everything was extremely cool, but when it came time to empty the can of whoop arse it was (you hit roller rat for 6 points, roller rat hit you for 3 minutes) rinse repeat. Talk about no skill.
3. Again, no skill in a rpg persistant world. Sorry, but I can get within the top 5% of any RTS or FPS. But in the MMORPG games it is simply how much time do you have to waste on the game. Levels are god. Thats not skill in my book.
4. Some say top players will not play PS. Another lie. Look, not everyone is in college or highschool and can dedicate the time necessary to play on a competitive team. That does not mean were not helluva good players. There are plenty of us to, with lives and jobs that can not or do not have the time to commit their lives to a game. That does not mean that we are less skillful.
Anyways, I was going to write more but I am just chomping at the bit for this game. As someone thats been playing online for 7 years now, I am burnt out. I am just plain burnt out on the same crap that every game offers. I play Unreal2k3 now, and it is just quake with better graphics and different weapons. I want something different and planetside is the FIRST innovative game in a long time that at least has the potential to be really unique.
I should be an affiliate program for Sony, I have sold many of my friends and coworkers on this game. And much to my chagrine, I am a Fanboy.
Can I just please ask that you finish your testing sony and ship this game on May 1st. No later.
Thanks.
