How does the command chat work? I tried /command blabla and it didn't do anything. /c or /cc just gave me an error message that this is "not a supported command". I have the required rank and cert.

I suspect it is /command (there is not ANY info about this cert...), but it has some requirements?

The communication tools in this game are still a joke (no empire / server / continent wide channels to actually coordinate stuff...), so i went with this cert to atleast provide some general directions when i see it fitting.

I was confused by this too, but I just figured it out (literally, 10 minutes ago). You have to be a squad leader, then using /com or /command will talk in a chat channel with other squad leaders.

to use the cert command channel you need to type /leader and be an active squad leader. I hadn't tried /command or /com I'll have to give it a look today.

I know /leader works.

Have to be a Squad leader, and have the cert.

Then you can use /leader and /orders.

/leader is the new /c. its Global, all SLs with the cert can read it and write in there, regardless of continent.

/orders is the new /comxy, its continent wide to all players of your faction. It has a 5 min cooldown between messages, so make your message count. ;)

Ah nice! What a simple but effective fix for spam...

Any cross-cont command chat yet?

Thanks people. I now figured it out too:

Tbh this system is a bit wonkers, and it's not just the lack of any information. I just want to be able to share my infos empire-wide and give some advice where i see it's needed. Allways having to be a squad leader to do that is kinda stupid imo. The entrance barrier of spending 100 certs should be enough to prevent every troll from (ab-)using it. Additionally a 5 min cooldown also is in place.

Edit: While i wrote this more people explained it. Thanks hehe.

Soo if i get this right:

- Need the cert
- Need to be a squad leader
- /command and /leader is the global (server wide) "command channel"
- /orders is continent wide broadcasting with a 5 minute cooldown per message

^ Yeah, you want /sitrep (Situation Report).

Perhaps I mispoke? Seems time limit isn't effective due to amount of players able to use the channel: INCREASE CERT PRICE FOR COMMAND CHAT! (http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/increase-cert-price-for-command-chat.52540/page-4)

i think its a step in the right direction, honestly i can give you a verbal situational report or just type one out but i only do that if asked. I think its alot better now that we have /orders simply because we can somewhat control the zerg.

Just finished using /orders to some very good results.

Over all its a good tool, when used properly. Myself and my outfit members are concerned though it will turn into yet another "command channel LOL fest" like in PS1.

Maybe with it being a Cert requirement and not a Battlerank perk it will reduce the amount of LOLFEST issues.

Because as every one is aware, one person can destroy the effectiveness of the /orders and the command chat itself.

So, just to clarify, /orders isn't cross-continent? That's a shame. You can also use /com instead of /leader, for the same effect.

You can't use cert cost as a global limiter because eventually lots of people will have it no matter how high a cost a give you it. Setting it high only delays the inevitable. Certs only gate how long it takes an individual to get something, they cannot provide balance past that because they are an unlimited resource.

Oh so that is the intuitive command for /comes, /comin and /comam, but no /comall eh? Why can't they explain the /commands better and make sure all players know and understand them?

The commands are horribly unintuitive a times and what I don't get is why not use the natural commands PS1 vets already knew? Why this "we have to do it different so nobody can instruct others when people start playing thing"?!

Nobody who starts playing the games gets to hear them! I usualy have to instruct all new players in the group een on /s!

In all honesty, I'm not happy with the system. I certed that last week and figured it was a map thing. Couldn't get it to work, so figured it wasn't in yet... Great. Fix the descriptions and for the love of pie, include the actual commands you get access too in the description!!!

Just put a damn (?) button behind it for more info on the cert!

Why are they making it so hard on themselves and us? :/

Well, I introduced the /orders command to the VS on Waterson. It's funny, the first time we used it, something like 90% of our army on that continent came to defend the base we asked, and we lost a lot of other territory.
