Very good job, thumbs up!
I especially like how the text is way more easy on the eyes than on the actual in-game maps (I kept calling Eisa "Elsa" for most of the beta because i didn't see the "i" lol).
One thing i noticed doing a quick glance: The outpost behind (north of) the NC warpgate on Amerish is missing ("secret mine" something).

thx, I'd forgotten what Amerish looked like.

Hey everyone, just wanted to point out a site I've been developing/conceptualizing since the tech test:
PlanetSide 2 Maps - http://ps2maps.com
It's starting out pretty basic but I have a lot of features I'm developing right now including grid lines, hex territories, locations of all control points, spawn rooms, generators, vehicle terminals, etc... I should have all of those added in within the next week or so.
In the near future I'm going to be adding in live multi-user drawing on the map as well as live integration with the PS2 data api so you can see a live representation of the in-game maps (territory ownership, enemy activity, etc)...
Lots of cool stuff planned for it. Let me know what you think! I'll be posting here in the near future when I add new features.

great. for new people also include an icon for the type of facility (eg. biolab, tech, etc.)
Are you going to have drag and drop player types (eg. MBT, galaxies, heavy infantry, etc.)?

We are absolutely going to have all the proper icons on the map for all the locations of everything. I already have the icons extracted from the game files.
And yes, ultimately one of the big goals is to have a live, drag-n-drop interface where you can place the locations of enemy (or friendly) forces on the map. Then other squad or platoon or outfit members can view (or optionally edit) your map live and see all the same stuff. For example, you could mark the location of an enemy Sunderer on the map, then your outfit's squad/platoon of pilots will know exactly where to bomb when they fly in.
It's going to be a very interactive tool for communicating strategy, positions and orders.

Believe it or not I actually might implement something like this. The Google Maps API does allow you to do custom streetview type stuff. Might do it eventually. Pretty low priority ;-)

How will it be controlled, though? By that I mean what is to stop a particular group from purposely falsifying the information about them? Maybe moving their icons over to the other side of a canyon so you drive right into them instead?

I think you misunderstand. There won't be one main map that everyone edits and shows enemy positions on. Because yes, then anyone could manipulate it to show anything.
Everyone will have access to their own private maps that they will be able to edit and share with their friends or squad mates or their outfit or whomever they trust.

Excellent!
That alleviates all my fears... and I look forward to getting off the government network to check it out when I get home!

Hey everyone!
Just updated PlanetSide 2 Maps last night. We added in Hex Territory boundaries, a Grid Overlay and Map Filters. It feels just like the familiar Google Maps that we are all used to. Check it out!

Now, can we get directions please? I want to know the quickest route to The Crown and the scenic route.
