leaderboard at a quick glance has some horrible numbers hope the ban hammer comes out soon if it hasn't already for some of these rediculous stats i'm seeing. definitely appears some aimbots have broken through the first few days i'd say. not sure if these are official numbers but if they are accurate some peeps gonna have some explaining to do :P

Don't be dumb. Leaderboard stats are bugged.

They are pretty accurate, they come up with some odd stuff sometimes, but for the most part it's pretty stable.

I doubt anyone is going to be banned for good stats.

I disagree... some of those players are obviously exploiting the XP system.

Indeed.

Smedley said they spied on players with ludicrously high xp gains and it turned out they were just being really smart and exploiting the zerg. I don't know if all of them are in this case but by itself it isn't sufficient proof.

Where did he say this? I don't see anything recent on his Twitter.

A week or two ago when he was talking about how much certs players usually managed to get. It was about the same time they doubled the cert per xp ratio and adjusted weapon costs accordingly.
Note that there may be cheaters on the leaderboard, but the devs seem to look at such players closely, so I'm not all that concerned.

I am against any kind of leaderboard or stat in this game. Stats do not show how good a player really is. He or she maybe be a great medic, engineer, etc. and other players will judge them by their K/D. This game is about teamwork and helping your squad. Give me a good medic any day that sticks to his squad, not some guy who runs off trying for one last kill.....just my opinion.

Agreed, My outfit sticks together, runs together and we all have pretty good K/D ratios, we also don't give a rats ass about the K/D its part of the reason we are in the outfit. We don't care about them so we do what we do best, Cause Hate and Discontent.

We've spent hours sitting on bridges blowing aircraft out of the sky, our dedicated medics and engineers have tons of certs because of it. We aren't exploiting we are playing smart.

We've faced a few who are straight up exploiting things, also faced a few who are blatant hackers. And the whole outfit has do a /report on that individual (Had a TR light assault drop out of no where onto a bridge and get 17 head shots within a Minute on a squad, only reason he stopped is a Tank ran him over. We didn't realize he'd gotten head shots on all of us till after one of the guys commented on how good the Light was when he got a single shot head shot on him, then every one else made the same comment. He could have been that good but honestly, I highly doubt it. so did a /report and let the devs handle it.)

Leaderboards are a pain in the neck, because people will always look at them and go "Well I should be up there cause I'm that good! how is that guy up there he's not that good I just killed him. yadda yadda yadda" Not all people mind you but most do.

Planetside 2 shouldn't have K/D ratios, shouldn't have leader boards. Its not a competition game in that sense. At least it isn't in my thoughts.

As an outfit lead, and running a squad I spend more time dead then alive because I'm constantly checking the map and trying to drive my squad(s) into good locations to not only make it fun for them, but get have maximum impact on the push be it cutting off a area, stopping an assault or just denying an area (I.E. the bridge).

My outfit makes me a better player through their support then knowing what my K/D is at any point in time, or that I'm on the leaderboard. Hell I was told last night I was 8th on the Leaderboard at that time, and my guys laughed and all said "Well Lex is going to be dieing alot in a minute medics get ready" and we had a new guy running with us and he asked Why?

"Because He doesn't like being on the leaderboard!" every one in the squad said at the same time.

Long story short, leaderboards just breed issues of people thinking people are hacking, or cheating, or exploiting, and they spend more time looking at that and less on actually playing. They cause frustration, and people get fed up and quit the game. They draw players in that all they care about is their individual score in a game that is team based.

Just my opinion of course.

Yeah in XoO with new recruits we get that outta the way at the start. If your worried about your K/D or leader board position this isn't the outfit for you....

On the 18000 / 3 there was issues with leaderboard in beta so i don't know if it is legit. BUT i do know we have some outfit members that jump in a Lib and go on 200+ KS.
