As some of you know, I'm a long-time Planetside veteran. The switch to PS2 was confusing at first, but I'm getting the hang of it. Just a few things I'm wondering about still, however.

First off, is there any way to see which microphone the game is using? It doesn't appear in the voice options. I bought a great microphone a while back and it has been great, except that my computer always wants to use my webcam's crappy microphone, so any game or voice application I use needs to be set to use the better mic. I can't find an option for that in Planetside 2 though.

Secondly, is there a grief system yet? I like that you can't shoot your team mates in the warpgate like in beta. I've had a few people take shots at me, haha. People have also run in front of me while shooting or were near an enemy that I was lashing, and it gives me a scolding message, but I've never been penalized.

Also, how do we redeem our Recruitment Center rewards? I earned the first tier, which was supposed to give me a cert pack, but I never got one.

Last but not least, when do other players see your title? I'm not sure if no one is wearing them, but I have yet to see others' titles in the game. I haven't seen my own either, aside from my profile page. You'd think it would show it in the death stats or the combat log.

Put simply, the grief system amounts to the more you shoot allies (or run them over for that matter) in a time frame, the angrier the messages get, until it locks your weapons (making you unable to fire anything) for a duration. Not sure on the duration, but it seems to be variable based on how much friendly fire you're doing (at least it seemed like it was in beta), so if it's accidental then it doesn't punish you as a true griefer.

Rank (and other) titles show in game in front of people's names (above their heads).

Okay, thanks man. I still think they should show the title in front of the name of those who killed you when the death stats pop up.

Anybody know about the microphone and Recruitment Center rewards?

Been playing a lot the last few days, and I have a couple more questions. First off, is there any way to have music play more often? I have little to no knowledge of how .ini files and other 'legal modding' (not prohibited by SOE) works. It seems like the music only plays for 15 seconds and stops, which is a shame, since I really like the VS music. Is there a way to make it play for longer, or increase the frequency?

I was also wondering why it was that MAXes cost aerospacebux rather than infantry (it seems like infantrybux isn't used for much, compared to the other two)?

MAXs should cost infantry resources, if it's showing otherwise it's probably a bug. On infantry resources generally, i'd say it's the resource people use most of, because you use it to buy grenades and other consumables.

A lot of people, when they have the resources available, will just go spend the whole lot on topping up their supply of things like grenades/other explosives and health kits.

The best way to deal with the microphone issue is to disable it in your operating system's sound settings.

In windows 7, go to Control Panel-->Hardware and Sound-->Sound-->Click on the Recording Tab-->either right click on your webcam and select "disable" or click on the microphone input and select "set default" in the bottom of the screen. This is how I do it, and it works for me.
