View Full Version : Drop podding on top of libs

Lol, it's funny drop podding into a hot zone, filled with libs and landing on them, doing tons of damage.
10 people using the deploy button could probably clear the skies fairly well if you're stuck inside and the zone you're in is a hot spot.

Pretty much.
Also works on Galaxies, Sunderers and tanks.

If there is one thing in PS2 I hate, it is the current drop pod system. I don't mind squad beacons being able to do stuff like this, but drop pods should not be able to drop on enemy bases via deploy/instant action. It's just obnoxious and irritating. I would much prefer if they had to drop outside of the 'SOI' of a base like in PS1.
However, if a squad beacon is active, that should allow people to drop pod within a base's SOI. But as it stands its so annoying trying to mobilize people at a base only to have a fucking drop pod land on the galaxy and ruin the moment. Same goes for liberators ;\

It used to be OP you could easily take out vehicles and galaxies (back when they were deployable) so it doesn't do nearly as much damage as it once did.

I got my first (and so far only) drop pod kill the other day, and it was a lib. I died in the process but it was totally worth it. :D

Yeah, I died each time I landed on a full health lib, but I did a lot of damage.
If you land on the tail, the lib will flip, it's funny.

I'm a magnet for friendly drop pods. At first it was funny when I was addressing my squad, and next second phrrrrrrrr-squish. Now im developing a phobia of being afraid of uncovered places.
This now kills the drop pod instead of the lib.

I think it's buggy and shouldn't be part of the game. At least not something which can be done in major facilities. And although it isn't supposed to happen, a friend of mine did drop pod and one-shot a liberator at full health and survived within the past week.

Lol, good stuff.
Someone should make a clan named: Drop Pod Brigade and do nothing but drop pod on people, planes and vehicles. Synchronized drop podding.

This now kills the drop pod instead of the lib.
It'll still kill the lib. I did it today.

Yesterday i piloted a galaxy full with people, with nearly full health we flew over an batttefield as a droppod hit the ship.
Hull integrity down to like 10% nearly killed us, enemys shot at us but we landed with like 2%health left before we started repairing^^. what it gave me:
Kill + road kill + ram bonus+ pod kill or something like that.
Whoever that was thanks for the xp and the adrenalin rush^^.

I hit one, and I died. It flew away merrily at 100% hp

Iv landed on a parked scythe and it flew off without a fuck given. Also tried landing on a base turret and it killed me without doing anything else.
It's fun to try and hit something with a pod but Iv never seen one kill anything.

I hit an airborne scythe on launch day, killed both of us and was absoluetely hilarious. I'm sure the pilot was pretty upset about that.

Drop podded another lib last night, same result as last time (both the lib and myself asploded everywhere).
No idea if it depends on the health of the target or where you hit it as to whether anything happens, or maybe it bugs out sometimes and does nothing.

I've been drop podded on in my scythe and taken no damage, but I have seen libs taken out. In our air team we call out if we start seeing a Steel Rain coming.. so our libs can get out of there.
Funny because as a scythe libs take effort to kill.. but a drop pod seems to OHK them or knock them unstable so they crash pretty regularly. Never seen a galaxy hit with one so don't know what it would do.

I like the drop pods doing damage....it's rare to see significant kills or spamming of it and entertaining to boot!

I landed on guys head as he was coming up the elevator at an Amp Station wall. Perfect accidental timing since I didn't see him until it happened and really made me laugh. Have not been able to tag an aircraft yet though.

This last weekend I got my first Drop pod kill while trying out my TR on Matheson. Took out the Lib, its 3 person crew, and killed me.
It was a really funny moment for me and was hard as the lib was not being still.
