View Full Version : Best NC HA (of the crappy guns, which should i pick?)

I put a forward grip and reflex on the gauss saw, but its long range leaves much to be desired. By that i mean it sucks balls at range.

Any better weapons for long range LMGs?

Edit: also, i don't know why i keep playing NC on waterson. I mean i spent the SC on rocketpods and the vortex for the reaver, so i feel like i have to stay there.

Frankly though the server is completely screwed. its generally 40% TR (thx totalbiscutt and angryjoe) and i'm BR 16 or something.. Guess i'm somewhat invested there. That said they making sc unlocks account global so I'm more excited to play matherson again (got a br 7 tr, but i may go for VS there in the end).

I don't need to be in the majority, but jesus christ its pointless being NC there. You basically just sit in the warpgate trying to hold onto 1-2 territories to stop the TR from taking Amerish, and then when they all go to sleep, the NC conquer an empty continent for an hour and then lose the whole thing again.

i want server transfers badly.

They all say 'Medium' for range. Good question though. I'd like to know too.

EM6 is the best.

GD-22s is the best for long range.

I cant tell if i like the EM6 or the GD-22 better. I think I like the GD-22 best.

both are better than the SAW

Agree, EM6 is a great choice.

tbh on my HA i have the normal gun with reflex, barrel mod and ammo mod. works well up close and i have picked off snipers with it at range firing 1 round shots or very quick 3-4 round burst. i have tried the other weapons but the one you get to start with fits my style better and when modded works great for me.

If you don't mind something more akin to a heavy assault rifle than an LMG, the GD-22S is great. I haven't used the EM6 before so I can't really make a comparison (people are saying it's good though, so it must be), but anything's better than the Gauss SAW.

Even the Gauss SAW S is infinitely better, but it's a lot more expensive - unless it's changed since I bought it, the GD-22S is only 100 certs, plus another 100-130 for the forward grip (goodbye horizontal recoil) and your sight/scope of choice. That's really all you need on it.

If you don't mind going outside the LMG category, the Warden is also great (for mid to long range). I have both (good investment if you have the money/time to get both) set up in loadouts so i'm ready for different situations.

HOLY CRAP I would rather play against those guys than with them. Yeah the game mechanics do give advantage to blind zerg numbers than small group of skill but TB and company should be just an endless stream of easy kills.

My mistake, i meant to say they went TR, so its 40% TR generally

and the warden seems cool

Phrygen I feel your pain. I would really like to move out of Waterson and into Matherson since I hear it's more balanced. We pretty much have to wait for DVS to come by with their massive outfit to get anything done on Amerish.

You can find the warden under the cert interface.

I think it's because it's a relatively new weapon type and they wanted to get the battle rifles in quick before release, so there's still some bugs floating around.

Little things like not appearing in the "heavy assault" or "engineer" filter in the shop, there being no "battle rifle" filter at all, and I don't think the Warden has a weapon stat page (and so far all the medals i've got while using the Warden were actually for the Stalker for some reason, or at least they were labelled "Stalker" on the popup).

Hopefully they'll fix all that soon, but the main thing is at least the guns themselves aren't bugged.

Ehhh I feel like Gauss SAW is the best for range, got grip on it last night and it's beastly. But im an iron sights only kind of guy and the sights for the other LMGs are horrendously obstructive..

GD 22s. with a forward grip and the 2x red dot.

I've been able to use it and engage at distances close to the same as the standard bolt driver, close range its a beast. medium range it rocks. Its an all around stable platform of doom.

Just need to learn how it recoils and where the rounds go.

Why would you use iron sights over the 1x scopes?

Cant stand sights, in any fps, i do infinitely better with iron sights always. I tried out every sight in beta and they all seem shit compared to iron sights.

Any thoughts on the Gauss SAW S? How many fire modes does that have anyway? I'd like to get something I can change fire modes with for longer range and such. Will any of the others change?

The Gauss SAW S has full auto and single shot, same as the GD-22S. The single shot mode (on both) is pinpoint accurate, good for harrassing snipers as well as actually giving you some (limited) ability at range. Even with just a reflex sight, you can tag people from quite some distance.

It still takes quite a few slow shots to kill anything like that, so you'll only get kills if someone's already almost dead or they stand still like a dumbass. It's not totally worthless, but overall you're gaining more than you lose when you take into account the Gauss SAW S having better handling overall (and faster reload) than the Gauss SAW (at the cost of damage).

The Gauss SAW S is a good gun, but I still prefer the GD-22S, which is a lot cheaper but sacrifices magazine size to be so.

Are you saying you mean hip shooting? That could make sense.

But if you prefer aiming with the iron sights over the 1x scope that doesnt realy make sense since they are the same mechanic - the iron site just has some added bouncing filler added to the graphics.

GD-22S is arguably on the best gun for close to medium range. It can cut down a HA shield and finish them no problem.

And if TotalBiscuit is such a problem, a zerg outfit named "I Wanna be the Guy Gaiden" would probably scare him off.

Nope ADS for sure, I just cant stand looking through a scope and i seem to do better with iron sights even at range, its all probably in my head but ya at least i save certs not using them..

I think the EM1 is the most well rounded NC HA weapon.

While it doesn't seem like it's made for long range, it's sort of like the carv, where you can at least easily hit targets way out there. Works well in the medium to short range where most of the action takes place in bases/outposts.

It's the "smoothest" NC HA by far, although it is still rough, just not as bad as the saw or em6 IMO.

I also think this weapon should have been the default NC HA weapon, instead of the saw.

You're using it wrong.

Get a 6x, advanced forward grip, compensator, and optionally HV ammo. Gauss SAW is *the* long range LMG, better than any other in the game when it comes to long range fighting. EM6 is less accurate but does similar to slightly less DPS, GD-22s does less DPS and isn't more accurate until after the fourth consecutive shot.

I usually don't waste certs on gun attachments.

I compare and use guns raw for the most part and do just fine without them, except for NC HA guns.

I have an NC and TR character I'm playing, both around or above BR 20 and live by that motto just fine, except for said NC HA. Only attachments I've got are extra magazine on my shotguns and one laser sight on the MCG. Carv: raw (works great), Saw: raw (sucks ass), light assault for nc/tr: raw (works great).
