Stat Signatures Beta

We have completed Statistic Signatures! A PSU exclusive anyone will be able to obtain a statistic signature for their characters in the near future!

But to start, we need to do a bit of initial beta testing. Right now it's open to all PSU Staff, Moderators, Developers and All Contributors. To create a signature you simply need to claim your character on our stats page (http://www.planetside-universe.com/characters.php). Once created save it and it will give you some BBCODE to add to your signature. These can also be used on any forum at all! So feel free to add it on your own team forums, or the official forums!

Keep in mind this is a work in progress and we will be toying with the layout and stats on the signatures. We are also open to suggestions!

Disclaimer: The API is still a work in progress. Data may go stale on occasion stay tuned to PSU for updates.

I only play an hour or two every few days and I usually play support. Wish there was a way to replace K/D with something support-related.

Eh, I think I'm sticking to my current sig until the stats update. Right now it's about 2 weeks out of date for my character.

Yeah, that is due to the wiki auto link code, I fixed it but still appears to be cached for you. I'll see if I can force it.

The out of date stats staying out of date after you have had a play session we can't do much about other than report it and hope it gets fixed.

Agreed! I've been sticking mainly to support until I can get my rig updated because otherwise it's pretty frustrating dying because of a hitch or a stutter.

In some areas I go Infiltrator because I can get reasonable frame-rates occasionally when sniping. So, definitely, we need customizeable background images or some Infiltrator backgrounds!

Hehe, Gryphon probably feels like an SOE dev right now. I'll play the part of beta tester:

Replacing K/D with people's most played class could be pretty interesting.

Yea what stats are displayed will probably be customizable as well. We will for sure be playing with the different data points that are out there. Perhaps a support class template for data so you can pick your background as well as the data points displayed.

Though as you might imagine, I loathe your promotion of K/D over other more teamwork-oriented stats. :)

Do Score / Hour and/or captures/hour. Those are telling stats and good ones to encourage so you can see who sits at tech plants and bio labs farming defense kills (like me, haha) :)

I want the dang sig lol, tried just a buck but the code still isnt there. Would like to know how much it takes.

It's a manual process really. PM me the e-mail you donated under, it's typically $5 but I will make an exception in this case.

We will be opening it to more people soon, I just have some back end changes that need to be completed to move forward.

Server names are not reliable at the moment, we can only get the server name if your character is online at the time the stats are loaded. As you can see at the bottom of the leaderboard almost 80% of the characters we don't know what server they are on. We are catching them as they appear. I am sure this will eventually be available in the API more reliably.

Gotcha, I know nothing about API's and computers in general ;P They invented the phrase plug-and-play for people like me when it comes to computers :D If I can't plug it in and make it work then I'm generally clueless.
I guess you guys are manually pulling the statistics from each server individually somehow ? Whatever way you're doing it, very cool. Saw some friends names I recognize from other games on those leaderboards, going to hunt them down one of these days on their servers.

More changes have been made on the system side of PSU, and on the API side at SOE. Please let me know if you see any strangeness with sigs. I've now opened sigs to people who RECEIVED beta keys of any kind on PSU which is about 3,000 forum accounts.

As I noted in another thread, there are some people showing with zero deaths.. that is a bug.
