So I want to buy this horn... but SOE fucked it up

Okay, so I really want to spend the 650SC for the Sundy horn. No problem. I always wanted a horn for my Sundy and now I will get it, great, all cool. But they have 2 horns. Which should I take? Which sounds more awesome? Which sounds cooler? Which sounds more annoying? Which will be more fun for me?

There is no way to tell because there is no way to pre-listen to the sound of the horns. Great SOE, now I can't spend my money on your game because I fear I will make the wrong choice.

This goes for all cosmetics. If you want to make money SOE, you should fix that.

P.S. If anyone of you already has a horn, could you plz post a vid of it? I would like to hear them :groovy:

Not really. I don't think it's unfair to ask for the ability to preview what you are about to buy. especially if the horns sound different and you are unable to see the difference in the menu. It's a design oversight imo.

Not surprising since SOE seems to severely lack in intuition and they have a hard time seeing things from a user's perspective considering how deficient descriptions are for anything.

I have a support ticket in because packages with vehicle weapons don't say what turret or vehicle a weapon is for. I spent a bunch of cert points to unlock a vehicle turret, then bought a package that, as it turns out, happens to contain the identical turret. If the packages had a little more detail on them, this wouldn't happen.

People are commenting that they would like to be able to preview items before they pay for them with actual currency that they have worked for.

They've also pointed out the fact that being unable to preview them is preventing them spending said cash. If I worked for SOE - and knew that my wages were being paid out of that very cash that they aren't spending - I'd be interested in that fact.

If people want to define that as "bitching", that's fine, of course. You might want to avoid any career which has a customer-facing element to it, though, you'd likely find it...challenging and frustrating.

I don't get why we're expected to pay for something that should be in the game as standard to hopefully stop people from getting FUCKING RUN OVER!

The 3rd person cam is so close into the vehicle and the first person view is so limited inside that you cannot see friendlies. I mean I'm not going to be looking at the Mini Map that you cannot even zoom in and out of like any other game while I'm being shot at and having to get the fuck outta there.

My question as well. I've been wanting a horn since the first time I jumped in a sundy in early Beta. I have NO issue paying for it, the more cosmetic/useless/fun/annoying/non-game effecting stuff in the cash-shop the better as far as i'm concerned but I want to be able to USE the stuff I personally pay for. I pay for some, I have no problem with it, but I want to be able to equip it all. I really don't like the single space. If I have to un-equip my front grill to have a horn i'm going to be very disapoint. And to top that off if I could equip hubcaps AND the Grill AND the rails I'd buy them all, but as it is? I'm not buying anything else because I have to choose so I choose the grill. If I have to choose between the grill and the horn? i'll be sad and may not buy the horn at all.

Actually I think this is the way to go. People paying for a horn is way better than people paying for op weapons - and since this game is f2p soe has to sell us something. I like horns way better because they don't give anyone an advantage. Except the advantage to be the coolest guy in the platoon :D

Uhm..no. That's just the use of strong language, sorry, I tend to express my emotions. I am also not complaining about anything that is free in the game (as you said), I have very valid complaints about the system of purchasing items with real money in this game.

I did something similar - bought the 'vehicle starter pack' with station cash only to find out some of the guns were identically-named guns for different vehicles. Having to buy identical weapons for different vehicles in the first place... I'll never agree with (greedy much, Sony?), but I wouldn't have bought the pack if I had a better understanding of what was really in the pack. I am tempted to issue a refund request... but I'm going to wait a couple days to see if they address the issue by making the weapon a "universal vehicle" weapon since I think that's a much better solution anyhow.

When some of the "free to play" servers out there for *a popular mmo* with donate options had problems a year ago, when Christmas rolled around, they issued a 30% refund on their version of Station Cash. It was nice because I still got to support a game I had fun on, got some great items, and even though I had some problems with the system, I was refunded enough to justify another couple purchases with cash I thought I already lost, it was just a great idea. I'd like to see something like that this Christmas, for those of us who spent in Planetside 2 over the last few weeks and had ... disappointments.

The thing is this is just another point in the long list of frustrations over small things that should have been there before release. They should have known already or learned from previous games it is ALREADY next time on a lot of these issues. It turns people off, it gets you irritated and complaining when you are in game and THAT makes someone more irritated and sensitive to the OTHER small things and annoyances and all of this adds up to rage quitting and calling the game a pig steaming pile of crap.

Little things like preview the cammos and decorations. Right after I purchase it I can equip it and see my character/vehicle will look with it equipped. There is a button that SAYS preview... but when I click the preview button it is the SAME FUCKING PICTURE I JUST CLICKED ON THAT DOESN"T REALLY SHOW ME SHIT!!!!

So what happens is you are frustrated with little things in the game and then something as simple as this crops up... and really people have a breaking point. The reason the saying is "The straw that broke the camel's back" is because with most people what finally puts them over the edge IS just that, a VERY LITTLE thing. And right now this game has SO MANY little things wrong there is a lot of straw to go around.

Naw it has its own equip slot but as it stands you can't equip them.

I use to want a horn. However, as of late, I haven't found the need for it as running over teammates on foot has become rather rare and I could care less ramming into other vehicles.

The somewhat shambolic introduction of horns has only made it easier for me to stick to my resolve of not spending my remaining SC until the game settles down.

It's just continual uproar: Removing paid-for features completely, then backing down. Stealth-nerfing weapons. Over-priced ornamentation and camo. Can't equip horns. Sunderer is locked to you, or disappears completely if you get out!

I'm only using certs for all purchases until it calms down a bit. This game is sooooo not ready for the big time. Who would have known, eh?

And, finally, they got vehicle damage to friendlies under control

Well, you bought a horn and can't equip it.

I finally decided to be also useful in the air and purchased the rocket pods. Now i lost the Smedbucks but didn't recieve the item. When i looked on the official forums i saw that apparently a crapton of people are having that problem and thankfully the devs are aware aswell.

But they didn't issue any visible in-game warning or disabled Smedbucks purchasing for the time being, which feels a bit unprofessional and adds up onto my personal pile of annoyance.

Long story, point being that i agree there are too many seemingly little things broken and bugged and that can add up quickly to become the reason someone refuses to log on again.

Just as an addon to my post: Seems they fixed the shop error(?) Recieved my pods tonight. Thankfully SOE has reacted to most (technical) issues quickly so far.
