so guys, has there been any more word on improving the joystick integration? i havent seen anything but i miss a lot due to work ect.

the last time i tried to fly with a joystick it felt crap. you either turned or didnt, there was no slight input or anything. atm it is like using the keyboard. the controls are either on or off. this is no good for combat. im used to full on sims and im waiting untill they sort out the joysticks properly until i fly a lot more.

my reaver is ready and waiting. mouse and keyboard are ok but no good for high G combat maneuvers. i know Higby was talking a while ago about improving joystick integration but that was a while back and never heard anything since.

Joystick analog control is in. Efficacy is largely based on preference at this point.

I hope that joysticks work right. I just ordered one yesterday.

I can fly choppers in ARMA 2 all damn day while using a K&B/M setup without worry. But when trying a plane/jet I can't do a damned thing with it. Choppers are great for a mouse, make small fluid movements and she'll do what ever you want. But jets need constant input for just about everything and my mouse ends up all over the place till I find out what color dirt is. Hoping that getting a joystick can let me fly more than just choppers.

my old x52 i dieing yo get some flight time in but atm mouse is better then nothing. the aircraft arnt bad to fly with the m&k but for high G stuff and following tight turns ect they are very lacking. will give it a go this weekend to see if they are any better. if not i'll hve to wait until they sort it out.

My ps2 client still refuses to load if I have my Logitech pro joystick plugged in. If I unplug it then plug it in when loaded then it does not recognise it.

Using Win 8 64bit.

Sadly, I have a sneaky suspicion that "true" joystick support is very low on the priority list. It's most likely regarded as a "nice to have" feature, but it won't affect player numbers in any noticeable way.

I wouldn't be surprised if less than 10% of the playerbase actually even own a joystick. The amount of games that require a joystick to play decently are few and far between. In the world of FPS games, joysticks are relegated to an optional control for one or 2 vehicles in games that are mostly about infantry combat.
