Especially when played with a light assault.
Anyone else get that sense.

Yeah sort of but its quickly replaced with a sense of "christ this is a meat grinder" as the opposing zergs crash into eachother.

Ya thats true. When you have up to 10 or maybe 15 people in the bio dome is what Im thinking of. When you have 50 is feels like a grinder.

All that ever happens is defenders camp those teleports or attackers camp the spawns, it's never a fun fight in there just like Tech Plants aren't fun as they turn into Operation Metro. Amp Stations aren't fun either because they seem impossible to defend, the enemy always comes in and it is over before you realize what happened. Friendly's never mount a counter attack, all just bail and go somewhere else.
On Indar what usually happens is TR bail and fight the other faction as it's always a 2 v 1 there. Vanu take the left side so TR switch and fight Vanu and the NC take the right and TR have to switch again lol.
Are there any other base designs but those Three?
Outposts don't really count, they always end up in vehicles sitting right outside the spawn and shooting anyone who instantly walks out. Then you have those Tower style buildings with the 4 landing pads but they end up being vehicle camped too so that is boring.
This game should just be called Spawn Camper come to think of it.
OMG you guys need to find a new game, Its suppose to be a meat grinder guys. If your faction needs that bio dome then guess what you gonna have to jump into that grinder and do most of the grinding. I think the bio domes are pretty well set up. There is a way in for the attackers, and with enough people you can defend it. I had a exelent battle at a bio dome this weekend. It was a three way fight and it was fun. I stayed mainly heavy assault and got quite a few kills, and really got to test out my new rocket laucher. I dont think there is anything wrong with the design of the bio dome. Im sorry if you dont have these neat little coordinated battles with lines drawn and stuff but this is the nature of PS1 and PS2, your object as players is to make friends, get together and find different ways to break the stalemate. But I guess its easier to come on PU and bitch about it, then pulling your heads out of your asses and working out a way to take a base.
We (the VS) took that bio dome by cutting off the NC spawn point, and putting a lib at the northern landing padd and punching some morter rounds in, and then rushing in and blowing the gens. It was a meat grinder, but im just one of those guys who doesnt worry about my K/D ratio and look more for fun and enjoyment.

I agree with Homer about the spawn camping. Seems like every fight ends with someone getting spawn room camped. Bring back the spawn control units. Should be one at every place that has a spawn.
Towers should have more protection inside from vehicle spam. Granted that's hard to do without doors. In the future, doors are no longer needed apparently.

I agree with you 100% (even though you're VS) on the fact taht they are VERY well designed. They are meant to be that enclosed space where you either have a good strategy,or you're fucked.
Bio domes are MEANT to be like this! They are a total blood bath when it comes to defending them or attacking them when the faction is dug-in. I'm tired of all these dumbasses wanting to bitch about enlosed fighting spaces.if you want an open fighting space, go to the north edge of The Crown. I was on my TR and we were fighting the hell out of the Vanu there. if you went out into the field, mag riders blew you to hell and back.it was basically a tank-ontank battle. but if you want those all the time, then go to World of Tanks!! common sense people, COMMON FUCKING SENSE!

Since tech plants are gone biolabs remain the only place where infantry has a role, I like them.

Tactics in biolabs dont matter. It is purely a number game. I don't care though i've had some damned good fights in biolabs, and who was bitching again? :groovy:

Bio labs are NC bases. If they have zerg power, distract them elsewhere then sneak in.

They had this in tech test. You know what happened... there were no good fights at all. Tanks roll in, SCU blown, Sit around for cap... and move on. The defenders had no chance to stop or even get a good fight in. If guys want to stick their heads out and play whack-a-mole with the tanks, let them.... move to the next base and pull vehicles and come back.
Most fights will end with either the defenders pushing the attackers out... or the attackers pushing the defenders all the way to the spawn areas. Denying the defenders ability to get troops to a fight is the end-all be-all way of winning a fight.
If guys want to stick their heads out and play whack-a-mole with the tanks, let them.... move to the next base and pull vehicles and come back.
They could throw a few tunnels to other buildings (not the Control point building) in more outposts. Give the defenders more exits from spawn in more geographically separate areas. So two tanks can't lock down a spawn
Oh, and I agree a little more enclosed areas in the towers wouldn't hurt to stop the vehicle spam.

This. Everything else is "bring the vehicle zerg, win fight". In biolabs you have to get out of your HE tank or Zephyr lib or rocket podder and do some actual ground work.
If anything, I wish for MORE infantry-focused base designs, even if they do tend to get a bit meat-grindy ish. Beats being blown up by vehicles from far away.

What Planetside 2 needs.
Cities, which btw we've been asking for since 2003 in Planetside. They even had concept of them in Planetside 2 but nothing.......
Also LOOK Enclosed Towers!
