Is the shadows tooltip wrong? It says it has full damage, not even the longshot has that.
Which would you guys choose?
Are there better alternatives?

The charts ingame mean nothing.

I have the LA80 and I freakin' love it. They nerfed projectile speed a little bit a short while ago but it's still pretty nice.
I also have the Shadow, and meh. I never can really bring myself to use it. I usually alternate between the LA80 for long range sniping and the Stalker for blasting people in the face.

The Shadow is a semi-automatic scout rifle while the Longshot is a bolt-action sniper. Pretty big difference there.
I don't have the Longshot so I just looked it up. It has the same high projectile speed as the LA80 and 50 more damage per bullet, which doesn't mean much since it'll still take the same 3 body shots to kill a target if you aren't aiming for the head.
On top of that, it has a slower rate of fire and a longer reload time than the LA80. I see little reason to take it over the LA80 unless you routinely like to snipe at targets that have already taken damage and you think that extra 50 damage will earn you some kills. Frankly I'd be willing to bet that the slower rate of fire would cost you more kills than you'd gain.

I think the bars on the tooltip are within-weapon-group only. It doesn't really explain that for some reason (and is why most people think they mean nothing), but that would be why one has full bar but does less damage than the other which doesn't; it has the most damage of that weapon type, but not overall.

Honestly, you're a lot better using stats like these (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AuOojvNLMApVdEtIU1NKenEzNzZOSWNaanFqSUVxLW c&type=view&gid=12&f=true&colid0=16&filterstr0=NC&colid1=17&filterstr1=SNIPER%2C%20BOLT%20ACTION&sortcolid=-1&sortasc=true&rowsperpage=250) than the ones in game.

with the kick it has it makes no difference tbh. the kick makes act the same as looking away and cocking it again. id say stick to normal rifle. i got it and went back to one i always use. waste of sc or certs tbh.

This is off-topic, but I do have one question for you guys since you're playing infiltrators.
I generally play LA, but yesterday I decided to try out infiltrator and see how sniping was in this game. When I did though, I discovered something that I hadn't noticed before while playing as LA.
There was a fight at the crater impact site on Indar yesterday with TR having a deployed sunderer on the bridge overlooking the facility. I could look down and see all sorts of VS infantry running all over the place, and then I would single a target out, and zoom in on them, then that person would DISAPPEAR! It happened multiple times to the point that I didn't want to play infiltrator anymore. I hadn't noticed this on LA because you need to be closer to play that class. I just found it strange that I could see the person at long range, zoom in on them, and then they disappear.
Does this happen to you guys as well?

I've seen that happen before, yeah. And not just with snipers, but with any scoped weapon. It's generally in places with large concentrations of people, so it might be a symptom of the same rendering issue that plagues everyone in high population areas.

My brother bought the Shadow several weeks back, swore by it going on a killing spree in mid-range battle with headshots.
Interested, I got it too and have hardly had the same level of success.
