I am working on upgrading my workstation a little bit, and i've got a little bit of money to spend on it (from not finding PS2 worthwhile to spend much cash on, naturally). I am looking for a monitor priced anywhere between 150 and 400 dollars maximum with a focus on a quality display. I am getting a little bit fed up with looking around the usual sites (newegg, tigerdirect, amazon, etc) and not finding anything decent for the money im willing to spend.
opinions?

I would try hardforum.com, this forum in particular http://hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78 to make a solid, informed decision. Problem with displays is you'll end up with a hundred recommendations from people who don't know what they're talking about. Brandwise, I know Asus and Dell are very popular and Asus displays are typically geared toward enthusiast gamers on a budget and get great reviews from people who have purchased them.
You ever find a monitor p0int?
Judging from what you want should get a IPS monitor. Do you have any preference on aspect ratio like 16:9 or 16:10, resolution, size, and brand?

yeah, i did. i went with an asus 24 inch 1920/1080 for half the price of what i was cool with spending. I'm installing it tomorrow (rather, later today for those of you who don't have vampire hours)
