Hello,
My Sister tried to install Planetside 2, but the Installation doesn´t work:

She createt an Account, downloadet the Installation File, Installed the Game and all seems to be fine, but when she started the Launcher, the Game couldnt download the Files, "Socket Error: Host not found (11001)".

Before, i wanted to save the download time, so i copied the Sony Online Entertainment Folder to her Computer. This didn´t work, (the Game crashed after launching it), so i uninstalled the Game and deleted the Folder.

The Game has all permissions in the Windows Firewall and the Antivirus Program (i hope it), so how can i fix that Problem?

intertubes = the internet. Do they have a solid connection to it?

the error you mentioned, Socket Error: Host not found (11001) tells me that your problem is locally, with your home network or with that specific computer.

Ok, i allowed the Ports 80 and 443, because this seems to be the Ports that the Launcher is using:

It doesn´t work...

80 and 443 is HTTP and HTTPS. All that's doing is allowing the launcher to load images and the like, has nothing to do with the download of files.

Per SOE, to download files:
A TCP connection is initiated from the Launchpad client port > 1023 to patch.station.sony.com port 7000.

A UDP connection is initiated from the Launchpad client port > 1023 to sdlaunchpad1.station.sony.com and sdlaunchpad2.station.sony.com port range 3016-3021.

The question is ultimately whether the traffic is being blocked by your sister's Windows firewall or her router. Personally, I'm going to guess that the PlanetSide 2 client is allowed by Windows firewall, but the Launchpad is not. If you are on the same network as she is (going through the same router) and your Launchpad is updating without issue, the above is almost certain.
