Bullshit. I'm not in yet BECAUSE I'm staff. Trust me, there's not the great fame status you're thinking.

But is it rigth to assume that the reason some of u are in beta, is because u run this thing???

Guess... i should start a comunity of my own :p

PSU has developed a relationship with SOE. This relationship is a trustworthy one, And Hamma has direct connections to marketing. When we sign up, We sign up as press/fansite. Does that increase our chances of getting in? I dont know. Could be

I know that they limit how many staff can get in, from any site. So say they let in 75 people this week, well they may only let in 2 staff - even if three are drawn from the pool. I'm not totally sure that's how it works, but believe me, if they were going by comps and connections, I would have been in weeks ago, cause my rig is better than quite a few others.

Point is, there's a downside to it all, and don't think you're missing out cause they're filling all the slots with staff from sites - cause it's not the case (Tho I wish it was :)).

These guys are really doing everything they can to be fair - plus with the massive beta tests, I think we'll all get in.

I know, i know... Actually its a good thing that writers and site managers get in first...

Coz if i had been in the beta instead of say, Hamma, the world would have a damn much fewer pretty screenshots to look at ;)

Just wondering if setting up a site of my own and starting writing would get me in beta, thats all :p

;) It's ok, happens all the time. A good quote knows no boundary.

In case you were wondering, I'm still not in beta.

Only the staff-members that made-out with Hamma in the back of his Pinto were allowed to join him in the beta. ;)

Actually, even though they are staff, most of them were picked randomly.. I mean, of course it probably influenced the decision, but most of the picking is random.

Press is handled differently. I dunno about Squeeks (maybe he did make out with Hamma in the pinto :D) or other staff but Hamma and Marsdude got in on a press pass.

SOE wants the press to know what they are talking about ya know. :)

I hate beta till I get an email, and since I have only gotten beta emails for games I really didn't want to play C: Gnerals when it was in beta, and now Eve online, I hate beta.

When you look at the sheer number of high profile community members (not just PSU) that are in the beta and compare that to the total numbers of players in the beta compared to the number of applicants it dosn't take a genious to understand that the odds are to small for it to be a coincidence...

Has to be some handpicking going on... Good for them, they deserve it from running fansites and such :)

edit: damn typos

LMAO, I'm right there with ya. I check my email every 20 mins or so, and I get all excited when I see I have new messages, only to find out it's a promo to get an jump rope on sale. :(

Damn junk mail.
