Any NC, or formerly NC players out there that have used the Anchor? I picked it up on a whim during the triple xp event because it sounded good for me. A mobile, fast reload low(er) ammo count weapon. Good up close for biolabs and such. So far I'm having mixed results. I would like to say I plan on attaching foregrip, a sight and softpoint ammunition. Don't remember if it'll take a compensator, but if it does that'll be on there too. Is it like the SAW where it needs a few attachments to really start shining?

I think I got killed by one once...so it must be OP ;)

Honestly though, I think all weapons need a few certs into them to really shine. Even if some end up shining more than others.

I have put no certs into my "Longshot" sniper rifle and it is amazing. From what I gather, the anchor is just a fast reload Gauss SAW, with a smaller magazine. I have not seen many around so I can't really judge on their effectiveness. If it acts like any other SAW, Laser sight + compensator would do wonders. A foregrip could work as well, but NC side recoil is easy enough to compensate for.

I've thought about getting the Anchor but from what I heard the gun isn't made for long-range shots. It is best used along with a laser for hipfiring. It seems to have really bad recoil for the first couple of shots which makes it not very good for precise shooting, hence the hipfire/laser.

I have one.
Heavy Assault isnt my favorite class but if Im playing one the Anchor is what I carry.

You can put an advanced laser on it and then its the only NC LMG that actually is reasonable to hip fire(its still no GD-7F though.)

It can fit a compensator so you will definitely want that.

If you go with a for grip you will still want a low power scope its a close and medium range gun. Its not useless at range but other LMGs work better. The high initial kick and the sideways kick dont favor shooting over 40 or 50 yards.

I like it because it shoots fast and has a high dps. And I rarely shoot 50+ yards unless planning for it ahead of time.

Interesting, I never really hip fire, but maybe I'll try it out on this one. I typically use the GD-22s for closer encounters, but read the description and looked at the stats on the anchor and decided why not pick it up? I know off the bat I'm not used to it so not liking it as much, but I'll have enough certs by the time I stop playing today o kit it out.

As far as classes go, I'm exclusively certed into Heavy, and normally use the GD-22s. I picked up the Anchor with Adv Laser and Reflex (Comp too I think), and it's decent in CQC, but definitely just a sidegrade. IIRC, it has a higher first shot recoil than the GD, but has lower sustained recoil and higher RPM.
